Question 1 of 10
1. As the man in the ticket booth hands you your ticket, you notice a picture of him and his mother on the desk. He sees you looking at it and says, "A boy's best friend is his mother." Who does he remind you of? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. As the door swings shut behind you, your excellent tour guide arrives! He greets everyone and proceeds to lead you into the first room in the house, Room 237. He opens the door and as a quite exposed woman stands up in the bathroom, he quickly shuts the door and says "Oops! Wrong room," before rushing you down the hall to the next area. Where do you recognize this room from? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The tour guide leads you down the hallway and into a large room. In the middle of the room there's a television with nothing but static displayed. A little girl is sitting in front of it, and as she sees your group walking into the room she mutters to herself, "They're _____." What's the missing word(s)? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Your group continues on its journey through the house until you hear a panicked screaming. The tour guide slowly opens the door to the room from which you hear the screams, only to find a tall man in a white mask trying to break into a closet. The person in the closet stabs him with something, a clothes hanger I think, and runs away. Who was the victim here (character name, not actor/actress)? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. The tour guide leads the group down the hallway and into a room that is completely empty except for a large chandelier hanging in the center of the room. As the group looks around the room the lights go out. When they come back on, the tour guide is gone! Everyone looks around the room to see where he is but all you can find is a trap door in the corner. Who likely captured the tour guide? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. The group stares at the trap door and is considering going down to try and find the tour guide so he can guide you out of this place, but before you can do anything the loud sound of a chainsaw is heard nearby. Everyone bolts into the hallway and starts running, splitting everyone up. Who might they be running from? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Now that the group is split up, all that remains with you is yourself and one of your friends. The two of you sit in the corner of an empty room as the sound of screams and a chainsaw rages on in the air. It seems pretty far away so you're safe for now, but then you hear something else. Through a small hole at the bottom of the wall you see a set of glowing eyes looking at you. The thing down there starts asking you if you want a balloon but you and your friend run out of the room as fast as you can before responding to it. What was it's name? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. You and your friend run down the hallway and to your horror you collide into a very tall and menacing man. He has a bag on his head and a knife in his hand. Who might you have just run into? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. You run and lock yourself in one of the smaller rooms in the house; as you turn around you see your tour guide tied up in the corner. You untie him and ask him how to get out of the house and he points to the window. You approach the window and see a hay bale below it- lucky you. Crossing your fingers and hoping for the best, you jump out the window. But, sadly, you miss the hay bale slightly and knock yourself out. In what film does the villain fall from the second story of a house? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Suddenly, you wake up in the passenger seat of your friend's car on the way home. You ask him what happened and he says that the two of you got out. But right before you're about to ask about what happened to the others, you feel a hand on your shoulder - a hand with knives on it. Oh no! You're still unconscious and dreaming. Say hello to _____ for me! Who am I asking you to say hello to? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As the man in the ticket booth hands you your ticket, you notice a picture of him and his mother on the desk. He sees you looking at it and says, "A boy's best friend is his mother." Who does he remind you of?

Answer: Norman Bates

Norman Bates is the main character from "Psycho". He was so attached to his mother that he treated her rotting corpse as though it were alive long after her death. Jason Voorhees is from the "Friday the 13th" series, and while he had a strong attachment to his mother as well, he doesn't talk so he definitely wouldn't have said anything to you. My pal Jack Torrance from "The Shining" doesn't speak of his mother very often, and Dr. Frankenstein ("Frankenstein") doesn't either.

Answer: The Shining

This is the room from "The Shining" where a woman tried to strangle Danny Torrance, and also where Jack Torrance has quite an experience.
FUN FACT: The room was labeled Room 217 in Stephen King's "The Shining" and there are many theories as to why Kubrick renamed it in his film adaptation of the novel; some of these theories involve Kubrick's rumored filming of the original moon landing.
3. The tour guide leads you down the hallway and into a large room. In the middle of the room there's a television with nothing but static displayed. A little girl is sitting in front of it, and as she sees your group walking into the room she mutters to herself, "They're _____." What's the missing word(s)?

Answer: here

"They're here" is a famous line from "Poltergeist", said by main character, Carol (Heather O'Rourke). I don't know how she got into the house though - where are her parents? They definitely aren't here.

Answer: Laurie Strode

It was Laurie Strode, the main character of "Halloween" (1980). Jamie Lee Curtis is the actor. The tall man in the white mask is Michael Meyers, the main antagonist of the "Halloween" series. The scene referenced here is from the original film, "Halloween" (1980), and occurs toward the end.

Answer: The Phantom

Since the only person here with a connection to chandeliers and trap doors is the Phantom, it must be him. The Phantom is the main villain in "The Phantom of the Opera" which is based off a novel and Broadway play. He haunts the theatre, where you will usually find a trap door on stage.
6. The group stares at the trap door and is considering going down to try and find the tour guide so he can guide you out of this place, but before you can do anything the loud sound of a chainsaw is heard nearby. Everyone bolts into the hallway and starts running, splitting everyone up. Who might they be running from?

Answer: Leatherface

Come on, it's clearly Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Leatherface's signature weapon is his chainsaw, even though he has killed far more people with other weapons - mostly butcher's knives and hammers. It certainly wouldn't be Chainsaw Charlie (this is horror, not WWE), and the Babadook would never use a chainsaw. Also, Jack is more of an ax kind of guy.

Answer: Pennywise

You really should've taken a balloon - maybe you could've just floated out of this place.

Pennywise is the main villain from "It" - a film, and once a miniseries, based off a Stephen King novel.
8. You and your friend run down the hallway and to your horror you collide into a very tall and menacing man. He has a bag on his head and a knife in his hand. Who might you have just run into?

Answer: Jason Voorhees

Jason Voorhees! He might be most well known for his hockey mask and machete combo, but until the third film he never even had a hockey mask. He also used multiple other weapons, including a knife, from time to time. Michael Myers also used a knife but he never had a bag over his head. Hannibal Lecter never wore a bag over his head, and Ghostface definitely used a knife but he always wore his signature mask.

Answer: Halloween (1978)

Michael Myers is shot several times by Dr. Loomis before falling off a second story balcony. This scene occurs shortly after Laurie (who he was trying to kill) stabbed him with a clothes hanger while hiding in a closet. He wasn't killed, but don't worry - neither were you!

Answer: Freddy Krueger

Freddy Krueger is from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984). His favorite hobby is killing people in their dreams. You better hope you wake up soon!
