In my opinion, movie making and character development don't get much better than this.

"Insomnia" is a movie about a Los Angeles police officer (Pacino) who travels to Alaska to investigate a local homicide. Both Hillary Swank and Robin Williams co-star, and in my opinion, give fantastic performances. Did you know that Harrison Ford was once considered for the role of Will Dormer, and that Jonathan Demme was set to direct? Pacino eventually landed the role as Dormer, and "Memento" director, Chris Nolan, took over the helm as director.

Answer: Glengarry Glen Ross

Another great performance by Pacino. No wonder that Pacino's co-star, Jack Lemmon, has been quoted as saying that the cast for "Glengarry Glen Ross" was the greatest ensemble that he has ever had the pleasure of working with. Other actors featured in the film include Alec Baldwin, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, and Ed Harris.

Answer: Serpico

"Serpico" is the true story of Frank Serpico, and New York City cop who blew the whistle on the rampant, widespread police corruption that plagued the NYPD back in the 1960s and 1970s. Enjoy the movie? Then check out the novel, entitled "Serpico", which was written by Peter Maas.

Legend has it that Brian De Palma was asked several times by studio executives to revise the final cut of "Scarface" so that it could be released into theaters with an R rating. "Dog Day Afternoon" marked the third of three movies that Al Pacino made with co-star John Cazale. John Cazale co-starred in "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part II" as Fredo Corleone, and he also portrayed Sal in "Dog Day Afternoon". Off screen, Pacino and Cazale were good friends, and they even shared a NYC apartment together before either of them became household names.
