This film was a remake of Alejandro Amenabar's 1997 film "Abre los Ojos". Amenabar's first english language film was the highly successful Nicole Kidman vehicle "The Others". "Vanilla Sky" tells the story of a man who has it all, however his life falls apart after a near fatal car accident leaves him disfigured. Soon after the accident, he begins to see things and remember things that cannot be real, and eh slowly begins to lose his mind.
