Answer: A robbery

A group of five guys try to figure out where they should go on vacation together, running through a number of European vacations without really picking one that they can all agree upon. Rob suggests going on a hiking excursion despite the others' disdain for such a physically-demanding trip. Rob and Luke end up heading into a liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine and inadvertently end up in the middle of a robbery in-progress.

While Luke hides, he accidentally gives away Rob's presence and, tragically, Rob is killed.

Answer: Sweden

Six months after Rob's death, the other four guys - Luke, Dom, Hutch, and Phil - end up taking the trip to Sweden, hiking King's Trail, in memory of their murdered friend. After spending their first cold night in small tents in the hills of Northern Sweden, the guys have two more days to go.

They trek upwards a great deal, eventually overlooking the mountain range from on high despite not being too fit. At the top, the guys end up placing a few items and a photograph of Rob, remembering the good times.

Answer: Cut through a forest

On the third morning, the guys wake up to a horrible rainstorm and the trip doesn't really appeal to the most of them. Dom, perhaps the least fit of the group, injures his leg during the hike and the guys realize that it makes more sense, instead of taking another 14 hours of the trail, to cut through the nearby woods, part of a larger national park, to cut the journey in half.

In another couple hours, they're making their way through the outskirts, and soon enough, they're lost.

Answer: Deer

Before long, the guys note how quiet the forest seems to be, and the dense trees actually seem to be making them take more time. As they cross through a stretch of dead trees, they eventually come across a recently-gutted deer hanging in the trees, bleeding out.

They quickly move on, knowing that whoever left it left it recently. Soon, the woods get dark and a storm comes upon them again. As they check their compasses and consider pitching tents to ride out the storm, Luke notice an odd rune marking carved into a tree, and just behind that they find a cabin in the dark.

It seems empty, and since they need cover, they break inside. On the way in, Luke hears something out in the woods, but can't see anything in the dark.

Answer: Phil

The guys end up heading into the cabin to find a number of wooden runes hanging from the ceiling not unlike the one carved into the tree outside. Phil ends up checking upstairs to see if there's any wood for the stove and he comes across a weird, wooden shape with no head and antlers for hands crafted in the attic.

It unnerves the men, but they realize they have to stay somewhere despite the weird Nordic witchcraft. They only end up staying for a few hours, just until it's light enough to go back out, but it ends up being a very uncomfortable sleep. Luke has a horrifying dream of the day Rob died ending with him getting clawed in the chest.

He wakes up outside to the sound of Hutch crying in the cabin, and when he wakes the others from their nightmares, he finds Phil upstairs praying, naked, to the effigy in the attic.

The guys leave the cabin as fast as possible and Dom, spying a path leading away from the cabin, demands that they take it since a path should lead to civilization. The only problem is that Hutch knows it leads the opposite direction from the way they were heading. The path leads them to yet another cabin - one they purposely don't check - and along a ridge that they still need to pass to get anywhere. The guys argue about their situation while Luke checks over the ridge, finding signs that they may be followed by something or other out there. Dom doesn't believe him, even if he sees evidence of the wound on his chest, because he blames Luke for Rob's death.
Later that evening, the group comes across something buried under moss. It turns out to be a tent containing some personal items, and judging from a wallet inside, it's been buried there since the early 1980s.
It gets dark again, so they make a camp.

Answer: Hutch

That night, the guys worry about their worsening states and Luke continues to hear something out in the woods. He listens as something walks past his tent and breathes heavily, and a short time later, he peeks out to find he's dreaming again. Whatever's out there creeps behind his tent and he awakens to hear Phil screaming. Hutch's tent is torn open and he's missing.

They hear a scream out in the woods and a louder bellow and, grabbing flashlights, they head out to search for him. It's too dark though.

As the sun rises they find him suspended from the trees, not unlike the deer they saw on their first day in the woods, disemboweled and impaled on the branches. They take him down, collect his compass and a knife, and cover the body before heading out. Phil reasons that whatever put him in the trees knew they were coming that way.

Answer: Phil

As the guys walk onwards down the path, they vow to continue walking the direction Hutch suggested until they get out of the forest. Stopping in a creek bed, the guys find a series of footprints indicating that there are people out there, but they opt not to follow the tracks.

Instead, they head up and over the next ridge. They don't notice something moving in the woods alongside them. As the guys reach the top of a steep hill, Luke sees a clearing ahead, and beyond that, the edge of the woods, right on track.

He races ahead to check it out and sees lights amongst the trees in the gully below and, while he's separated, Phil gets taken. Dom and Luke later find him, impaled in the trees and disembowelled like Hutch was, and again the body was almost left directly in their path.

Answer: Loki

Fleeing from the creature in the woods, Dom and Luke end up stumbling upon a path lined with lit torches and follow it to what appears to be another cabin. They make it inside and realize they're not alone, but before they can react, they're both knocked out. Luke eventually wakes up chained to the floor with his wrists bound. Outside, a group of people constructs something though they can't tell what.

The people outside eventually come in to offer water to their prisoners and inform them of the coming sacrifice.

A small woman comes in bearing the same mark on her chest as Luke while Dom is carried out and sacrificed.

Answer: It can not leave

To escape his ropes, Luke breaks his thumb and slides out of his binds. An English-speaking woman comes down to talk to Luke, explaining that the ritual will end soon. The one who took his friends is a God, and they do not speak of it because it lets them live there with eternal life provided they worship it. Luke's ritual will begin soon, she says, as his mark on his chest indicates that he may worship it; the mark was given to him because his pain is great.
Luke refuses though, instead breaking out of his prison. His escape takes him through a room of undead creatures, all of whom are still able to live on with eternal life, even in their decrepit states. He sets them ablaze.
This angers the creature who, in turn, kills the other followers and gives Luke the chance he needs to flee. Somehow, after an extensive chase, he makes it to the edge of the forest, fending off the creature enough to make it to the other side of the tree line. And when he crosses the threshold, the beast can not follow. As the sun rises, Luke walks off, alone, through the hills and to the highway.
