Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What book did Tiana's mother read to Tiana and Charlotte at the beginning of the movie?

Answer: The Frog Prince

Tiana's mother Eudora read the story of "The Frog Prince" to Tiana and Charlotte. It was written by Hans Christian Andersen and was the basis for this Disney movie.
After hearing the book, they both thought it was disgusting to kiss a frog. Little did they know, they would both end up doing so later in their lives!
Incidentally, the books that made up the three incorrect answers were all written by Hans Christian Andersen.
2. What was Tiana's dream--one which eventually came true?

Answer: Open a restaurant

Ever since Tiana was a young child, she had been into cooking. It was her dream to open a restaurant and name it Tiana's Place. When she grew up, she was able to work as a waitress in a restaurant. She planned to stay there until she could open up a restaurant of her own, which she was able to do at the end of the movie after marrying Naveen.
There were those like her mother Eudora and her best friend Charlotte who believed Tiana was overworking herself and needed to take things slower.
3. Who told Tiana and Naveen that Mama Odie was the person who could help them change back into humans?

Answer: Louis

Louis the jazz-playing crocodile informed Tiana and Naveen that Mama Odie could help them figure out a way to become human. Tiana and Naveen both rode on Louis until Ray the firefly came along and told them they were going in the wrong direction. They changed direction and the four of them journeyed to Mama Odie's home in the bayou.
4. Why did the magic from Dr. Facilier's talisman wear off?

Answer: Naveen had escaped his prison.

After being turned into a frog, Naveen was held captive in a jar, which was to be his prison until Lawrence got what he wanted. However, Naveen somehow escaped and went in search of someone to turn him back into a human. As a result, the magic in the talisman began to wear off, so Lawrence had to recapture him and use more of Naveen's blood to keep the magic ongoing.
5. What was the nickname that people, mainly Tiana, used when referring to Dr. Facilier?

Answer: Shadow Man

Dr. Facilier was also known as Shadow Man, perhaps due to the fact that his shadow had a mind of its own and would act independently of him. In fact, the only person who referred to Dr. Facilier by his name was Dr. Facilier himself. Despite this independence, when Dr. Facilier died, so did his shadow.
6. Who fell in love with Lawrence after he was transformed into Naveen?

Answer: Charlotte

It was Charlotte's dream to marry a prince and when she saw Naveen (who was actually Lawrence, who was transformed into Naveen thanks to Dr. Facilier), she found what she was looking for. The two of them danced, went on a date, and even planned to get married. However, during the wedding ceremony, Lawrence's deception was discovered, and he was put into jail.
7. When Tiana kissed Naveen, why did he not transform back into a prince?

Answer: Tiana was not a princess.

The only way Naveen could be returned to human form was to be kissed by a princess. He saw Tiana who wore a crown and believed her to be a princess. He explained what happened to him and the two of them kissed. However, since Tiana was not a princess, the kiss turned Tiana into a frog instead.
8. How was Charlotte considered a princess?

Answer: She was the daughter of the king of the Mardi Gras parade.

Eli, also known as Big Daddy, was voted king of the Mardi Gras parade for the fifth year in a row. Since he was king, that would make his daughter Charlotte a princess. This was good enough to be able to turn Naveen back into a human; however, since Charlotte waited until after midnight to kiss Naveen, he was not able to turn into a human.
It wasn't until Tiana, still a frog, kissed Naveen that the two of them were changed back into humans.
9. Who smashed Dr. Facilier's talisman?

Answer: Tiana

Tiana had possession of Dr. Facilier's talisman. He tried to convince her to hand it back by saying that she could own the restaurant she always wanted to, if she would give him the talisman. She refused knowing that this was not the way to get her dreams.

She smashed the talisman, and ended his plan. Dr. Facilier tried to argue that he had other plans and that this was only a minor setback--that this one plan that went awry didn't mean that his ultimate goal couldn't be achieved. This fell on deaf ears, as his friends on the other side, deciding to cut their losses, killed him by dragging him away.
10. How did Ray the firefly die?

Answer: Dr. Facilier stepped on him.

Ray got a hold of Dr. Facilier's talisman and intended to smash it thus putting an end to Facilier's plan. However, Dr. Facilier caught up to Ray and stepped on him and took back the talisman. After dying, he became a star in the sky alongside his lover, Evangeline. (It was Ray's belief that when fireflies die they become stars in the sky.)
