Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cade Yeager was falling behind on his bills, served with an eviction notice, stealing electricity from his neighbors, and a self-employed what?

Answer: inventor

Cade Yeager was a struggling inventor who lives in Texas. He was a single father trying to raise a daughter, Tessa, who just graduated from high school. He was an inventor by profession, but not very successful in his trade. Many of his inventions don't quite work right.

His employee, Lucas Flannery, ended up paying for many of the things he was trying to fix and resell. At one point, a real estate agent tried to show his house to potential buyers, and he chased her off with a baseball bat. In searching a run-down movie theater for salvageable items, he found and purchased a badly damaged truck -- which turned out to be Optimus Prime.
2. In twisted contrast to the NEST program, the Cemetery Wind program was secretly doing what?

Answer: killing Autobots alongside Decepticons

After the Battle of Chicago, the NEST alliance was terminated and replaced with Cemetery Wind. Officially, the program was created to hunt down any Decepticons that survived the battle, but unofficially, they were hunting down Autobots. Cemetery Wind was run by Harold Attinger and fielded by James Savoy.

They worked with Lockdown, a mercenary, and were shown hunting down and killing Ratchet. They were the ones who tried to hunt down Optimus Prime in Mexico City, and were able to trace him when Cade towed him back to his house.

When they attacked, Optimus Prime fought back, and Shane Dyson (Tessa's boyfriend) drove them away. Lucas died in the fight, though.
3. The Autobot team learned of KSI and its project from what?

Answer: a drone that Cade caught and hacked

During the assault at his house, Cade managed to grab a small drone that was part of the SWAT team. He saw that the drone was made by KSI, and hacked into it and found footage of Cemetery Wind killing Leadfoot. Optimus Prime managed to repair himself and rallied those Autobots who had gone into hiding and evaded death -- Bumblebee, Hound, Drift, and Crosshairs.

He declared that despite vowing never to harm humans, he would hunt down those responsible for the deaths of his own. The most reasonable place to look would be at KSI.
4. In storming KSI's headquarters, the Autobots returned to what city that had been destroyed five years earlier?

Answer: Chicago

KSI (Kinetic Solutions Incorporated) is headquartered in Chicago, and founded by Joshua Joyce, an inventor who was much more successful in life than Cade. After the Battle of Chicago, Cemetery Wind allowed KSI access to the remains of the Transformers who had died there.

They started reverse-engineering them, and eventually came across what they called "transformium" -- an unstable, programmable metal that the Transformers are made of. Using Brains to help translate information from the dead, they created an army of 50 robots, including Galvatron.

However, they had run out of transformium in the process.
5. In his confrontation with Galvatron, Optimus Prime told him that he lacked what?

Answer: a soul

Optimus Prime: You have no soul!
Galvatron: That is why I have no fear!

KSI's team kept building and rebuilding Galvatron, but he never turned out quite right. He was supposed to be modeled after Optimus Prime, but kept coming out as dark and terrifying. When the Autobots stormed KSI and confronted Joshua, he talked them down and explained how people didn't need them any more. After they left, he ordered a test run and sent Galvatron and Stinger (who was supposed to be an upgraded Bumblebee) after them. Galvatron greatly surprised KSI when he spoke. He wasn't programmed to do that. Being man-made, he lacked the spark ("soul") that the Transformers have.
6. As part of their agreement, Lockdown gave Cemetery Wind a valuable device called a what?

Answer: Seed

Galvatron went after Optimus Prime far more viciously than KSI expected, and (probably) killed a number of people in the process. Like all of the KSI-made Transformers, he transforms by deconstructing himself and reforming as a new entity. But after Galvatron distracted Optimus Prime in combat, Lockdown showed up and took him prisoner.

In return for their help, Lockdown gave KSI/Cemetery Wind a Seed -- a powerful device that could be used in terraforming and would generate transformium. The plan was to take the seed and detonate it in the Gobi Desert, far away from anybody.

It would supposedly generate enough transformium to last for a century.
7. According to Lockdown, who wanted Optimus Prime back?

Answer: his creators

When Lockdown captured and confronted Optimus Prime, he expressed great disdain for the Autobot/Decepticon war, saying they were always fighting like children. He told Optimus Prime that he was wanted -- by his creators. Lockdown then took Optimus Prime aboard his ship, accidentally taking Tessa along with him.

The Autobots infiltrated his ship and eventually rescued both of them. They detached a smaller ship from the main one, escaping just as Lockdown launched into deep space. A number of other prisoners happened to be aboard that ship too.
8. After their headquarters was breached, Joshua Joyce moved his created Transformers to KSI's headquarters in what country?

Answer: China

As they had gotten the Seed and planned on setting it off in Mongolia, KSI moved their robot army to Beijing. As Joshua started having misgivings about their plans, Galvatron came online and took over the robot army. As Brains explained to the Autobots, Megatron had not died.

He manipulated KSI to create a new body for him, and transferred his mind to it when it was completed. He would have no qualms about detonating the Seed in a large city and killing millions of people. Joshua managed to flee with the Seed to Hong Kong, but in the meantime, Lockdown realized that his prisoners were missing...
9. In need of a new army, the Autobots released prisoners from Lockdown's ship that took the form of what?

Answer: dinosaurs

Galvatron's army started tearing up Hong Kong while trying to reclaim the Seed, and Optimus Prime realized his troops weren't enough. He went back to the commandeered ship and released its prisoners -- the Dinobots. The four of them did not take willingly to Optimus Prime, but he managed to wrestle Grimlock into submission and rode him into battle.

The others -- Strafe, Slug, and Scorn -- followed the charge. They came in time to prevent the Seed from falling into Galvatron's hands and killed a number of his army, but Lockdown arrived and started tearing up Hong Kong with a magnetic engine.
10. Grim and true to his word, Optimus Prime killed who?

Answer: Harold Attinger

Among the chaos, Cade managed to kill James Savoy by distracting him with a football and pushing him off a building. He later came up against Harold Attinger, who was ready to kill him. But Optimus Prime stayed true to the vow he made to Cade and the Autobots earlier in the movie.

He intervened and shot Harold, making this the first time Optimus Prime has ever killed a human. While he was distracted, Lockdown managed to impale Optimus Prime with his own sword, but humans and Autobots worked together to free him. Optimus ended up slicing Lockdown cleanly in half, and used his grenades to destroy the remaining Decepticons.
