Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who says the line "I've not seen so much love in a room since Narcissus discovered himself!"?

Answer: Hermes

Hermes is the messenger to the gods. In Roman mythology his name is Mercury. Hermes is looking round the room at Hercules' christening (or Greek form of a christening) and, observing all the presents for the baby god, he makes this comment.
2. Hades' slave Pain is blue and thin.

Answer: false

Panic is blue and thin, Pain is pink and fat. We meet Pain and Panic a few times in this film, including the time when the two little monsters are trying to get Hercules to drink the drink that would, according to Hades, "turn the little sun spot mortal".

The old couple disturb them before the process is finished, and Pain and Panic flee before Hercules has drunk every last drop of the potion.
3. When Phil is singing the introduction to his song "So You Wanna be a Hero", he gets zapped with lightning. What does he say after he has recovered from the shock?

Answer: OK

Phil is just about to say, presumably, something along the lines of "no way" in reply to Hercules' request for Phil to become his personal trainer, but Zeus intercepts, and blasts Phil with a lightning bolt. Phil then starts measuring Hercules' muscles, and setting tasks for him to do, all the while singing his "So You Wanna be a Hero" song.
4. What is the name of the centaur-like creature that is seemingly kidnapping Meg?

Answer: The River Guardian

Although it seems like Meg is - to quote Phil - "the basic D.I.D.- damsel in distress", she is actually trying to enlist the River Guardian's help in Hades' ongoing fight against Zeus and the other gods and godesses on Mt. Olympus. Hercules fights the River Guardian in a slapdash way, provoking a huffy response from Phil. Meg utterly charms Hercules - or Herc, as she calls him - and he watches slack-jawed as she slinks away.
5. In the series of unfortunate events in Thebes, the flood comes last.

Answer: True

Three of the many unhappy inhabitants of Thebes are discussing all of the natural disasters that have occured there, when Hercules overhears them and steps forward, with the macho words "It seems to me that what you people need is a hero!" The people of Thebes are unimpressed by Hercules, and simply amused by Phil, goading him about his failure with a previous trainee Achilles. Phil is incensed, and rushes at one of the Thebes dwellers, ripping a piece of trouser off with his teeth.
6. Whenever Hercules cuts one of the Hydra's heads off, how many grow back?

Answer: 3

Hercules discovers that the Hydra grows three heads every time it loses one when he is lying dazed on the floor, with Phil standing anxiously over him. Phil glances up, and sees that Hydra is not dead, and is now sporting three new heads. Hercules has to fight the Hydra all over again, ending up swallowed.

The people of Thebes all think he is dead, and turn to leave, when a slicing sound behind them tells them that Hercules has defeated the Hydra.
7. Hades gets really angry with Panic for wearing "Hercules" shoes.

Answer: False

Hades gets really angry with Pain for wearing "Hercules" shoes. Panic chooses this moment to slurp his "Hercules" juice really loudly, making Hades notice him. Panic gets scared, and, between whimpers, tries to pacify Hades by offering him some juice, saying "...thirsty?".
8. Who claims to have weak ankles?

Answer: Meg

Meg is bidden by Hades to find Hercules' weakness, so she takes him on a date to try and find out. They end up in a public garden, and Meg tries to talk about weaknesses by pretending to trip because she has weak ankles. Hercules says he has no weaknesses though, because, as Meg put it "Wonderboy you are too perfect".
9. What does the molten rock Titan want to do to Zeus?

Answer: melt him

The planets align ("ever so nicely," according to one of the three fates), and Hades releases the Titans, bidding them to destroy Zeus. Although united in their hatred for the Greek deity, each Titan has their own idea of how to get rid of the masterful god of thunder. For example, the Hurricane Titan wants to "blow him away" and the Ice Titan wants to "freeze him".
10. At the end of the film, Phil finds love. But which of his would-be girlfriends did he hook up with?

Answer: Aphrodite

All the gods and goddesses are deliriously happy because Hercules is a true hero, even though he wants to stay on Earth with Meg, and in a fit of passion, Aphrodite grabs Phil and kisses him. Phil is dragged away from her by Hercules, and forced onto Pegasus who flies them back down to Earth.
