Who Said It?: "The Addams Family" Quiz

Answer: Grandmama

Grandmama says this soon after "Gordon", pretending to be Uncle Fester, first arrives after the séance. The family is skeptical that Fester has just returned out of the blue after twenty-five years and Ms. Craven, pretending to be German psychologist Dr. Greta Pinder-Schloss, tries to convince them otherwise. Ms. Craven, unbeknownst to the Addamses, has manipulated her son Gordon into pretending to be Fester in order to steal the Addams Family fortune. Ms. Craven is also working with Tully Alford, the corrupt lawyer of the Addamses, who is heavily in debt to Ms. Craven.

Wednesday is skeptical that Fester could possibly have survived the Bermuda Triangle (since she alleges no one does), Dr. Pinder-Schloss says that "the human spirit is a hard thing to kill". Grandmama responds to that by saying "even with a chainsaw".

Answer: Gomez

In this quote, Gomez reveals the combination to the vault where the family's fortune is stored away. The numbers 2, 10 and 11 hold some apparent significance referring the number of eyes, fingers and toes someone has (though it is not clear who). Fester's inability to remember the safe combination is one of the things that upsets Gomez and makes him think Fester is an imposter.

Answer: Margaret Alford

Margaret is the wife of Tully Alford, the Gomez' corrupt lawyer. The Addamses appear to be Tully's only client and do not appear to be aware of how awful Tully is. Margaret has grown to dislike her husband because he is always putting her in terrible situations, mostly involving socializing with the Addamses whom she also hates.

Margaret utters this quote during a spat with Tully. Tully had once again forced Margaret to socialize with Morticia, much to his wife's dismay. In a turn around, by the end of the movie Margaret has fallen in love with Cousin Itt and becomes an Addams herself.

Answer: Wednesday

Wednesday says this line, one of the most memorable of the film, at the end of the movie. During the Halloween celebration, Margaret asks Wednesday where her Halloween costume is, noting that she wearing her regular clothing. Wednesday responds that this is her costume. She is going as a homicidal maniac. Pugsley, meanwhile, goes as Uncle Fester.

Answer: Flora and Fauna Amor

Flora and Fauna Amor are the conjoined twins who are cousins of Gomez and Fester. The brothers had a falling out of them shortly before Fester disappeared twenty-five years prior. The twins attend Fester's welcoming party where they meet Tully. It is to Tully whom the twins say this quote. They mention to Tully that because Fester is older than Gomez, the Addams estate is entirely his. Gomez had been in charge of the estate only because Fester had disappeared and was presumed dead.

Prior to this point, Tully had failed several times to get the Addams money but with this bit of information, he has a new plan. He is able to convince the corrupt Judge Womack, who lives next to the Addams and also hates them, to get the Addamses evicted from their home. This allows him, Ms. Craven and "Gordon" to search the house for the money. However, by this time "Gordon" has already started hating his mother and Tully.

Answer: Dr. Pinder-Schloss

This quote is said by Ms. Craven while she is pretending to be Dr. Pinder-Schloss. Gomez had begun to suspect that Fester is an imposter after Fester fails to remember basic things about himself. Dr. Pinder-Schloss tries to convince Gomez that his feelings and thoughts about Fester are natural and is easily able to convince Gomez that "Gordon" is Fester.

She blames Gomez' hatred for his mother for his doubting Fester's legitimacy.

Answer: Uncle Fester

Uncle Fester says this quote to Ms. Craven shortly before he kills her. In the previous scene, Ms. Craven had ordered Fester to kill Morticia as punishment for returning to the house and trying to speak with Fester and convince him to do the right thing.

However by this time, Fester has grown to love the Addamses and hate Ms. Craven and Tully. Gomez comes to rescue Morticia but Ms. Craven threatens him when he goes to kill Tully. Gomez is about to reveal the correct way into the vault but Fester stops him.

Instead, Fester pulls out "Hurricane Irene", a book that releases that a full blown hurricane into the house. Ms. Craven begs him to put the book back but Fester opens it, sending Ms. Craven and Tully out of the house in a whirlwind and into their graves.

Answer: Tully Alford

Tully says this Fester right before Fester kills him and Ms. Craven via the "Hurricane Irene" book. This was Tully's last ditch attempt to save himself by promising Fester some of the money. However, Fester has long realized Tully and Ms. Craven were just using him to get the Addams' money.

Moreover, Fester developed a fondness for the Addamses and never really liked Tully and Ms. Craven, his adoptive mother.

Answer: Pugsley

Pugsley says this line while Gomez is playing with his train set. Morticia is reading the children a bedtime story when the house begins to shake from the trains. Gomez is about blow up his trains out of anger of his belief that Fester is an imposter.

This is apparently something that Gomez frequently does when he is angry and it worries Morticia, who soon afterwards speaks with Fester about the importance of family.

Answer: Morticia

Morticia says this quote to Gomez after the party breaks up. The couple go to wake up Pugsley who fell asleep during the festivities. He appears to be taking a nap on a large serving dish, big enough for him to lay on. When asked, he tells his parents that he hasn't seen Wednesday in a while, alerting the Addams to the fact that Wednesday has been missing all night.
