Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I told an owl that many others and I were going to see the new prince, as he had just been born. Who voiced me?

Answer: Peter Behn

Behn voiced a young Thumper in "Bambi". Thumper was known for thumping his foot up and down in order to attract attention, and he did this early on in the movie to talk to the owl. He told the owl he and the others were heading out to see the new prince who had been born. Thumper referred to the new deer who was eventually named Bambi.

In one scene, Thumper pointed to a bunch of birds flying to tell Bambi what birds were and he listened to Bambi attempt to sound out the word "bird". Thumper built a good friendship with Bambi and there was one scene when he slid across a thick sheet of ice. Thumper watched as Bambi tried to slide across it, too, but kept tripping. Behn's first acting credit was voicing a young Thumper in "Bambi".
2. I was shot dead by a hunter. Who voiced me?

Answer: Paula Winslowe

Winslowe lent her voice to Bambi's mother. Bambi's mother was seen raising him throughout the movie and teaching him some good lessons. In one scene, Bambi's mother got all shaken up once Bambi ran towards an open plain in the forest so she hurriedly prevented him from going on the plain.

She explained to Bambi never to go out on the open plain until she deemed it safe to travel across, as that was where animals were the least safe. In a later scene in the film, Bambi and Bambi's mother were out in the meadow when she told Bambi she heard something. Bambi's mother realized there was a nearby hunter and she yelled to Bambi to run fast. Bambi and Bambi's mother ran to avoid the hunter but he managed to shoot her dead. Bambi was saddened when he shortly found out that his mother had died.

The death of Bambi's mother is seen by many critics as one of the most tragic moments in movie history. Winslowe guest starred on the TV series', "Run for Your Life", "Perry Mason" and "Going My Way".
3. I became tired so an owl nearby requested that everyone who visited me head home. Who voiced me?

Answer: Donnie Dunagan

Dunagan, born on August 16th, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas voiced a young Bambi. Bambi was born early on in the film and many animals went to go see him, since he was deemed a prince. Bambi started to get up and walk but he wobbled a little so he sat back down next to his mother. Bambi began to yawn so the owl nearby advised everyone to head back home so Bambi could sleep. Bambi was next seen walking throughout the forest with his mother, so he could start exercising his legs. Bambi encountered many animal friends on his walk, who wished him a good morning. Bambi tripped while walking, which Thumper and his friends witnessed, so they asked his mother if he was hurt. Bambi's mother assured them Bambi was alright and then told Bambi to get back up again. Once Bambi stood upright again, he started to play with Thumper and his friends. Bambi, Thumper and the others walked towards a log and jumped over it, but Bambi had trouble doing the same due to his long legs. Thumper assisted Bambi in crawling over the log. Dunagan had roles in the movies, "The Forgotten Woman", "Tower of London" and "Mother Carey's Chickens".
4. I liked the name which Bambi gave me. Who voiced me?

Answer: Stan Alexander

Alexander lent his voice to a young Flower. Bambi and Thumper came upon a patch of flowers and Bambi noticed a skunk within the patch. He called the skunk "Flower" so Thumper laughed and told him the skunk was not a flower. However, the skunk said he did not mind being called Flower, so that was how the skunk got the name. Bambi then told Flower he was pretty, which made Flower giggle and blush.

In one scene, Bambi, Thumper and Flower started to pretend to be other animals and Flower pretended to be a turtle. Flower then commented on how he found turtles to be scary animals. Flower saw this for himself, due to a turtle biting Ronno on the nose in another scene in the movie. Alexander's first acting credit was voicing a young Flower in "Bambi".
5. Bambi first saw me when he noticed my reflection in a pond. Who voiced me?

Answer: Cammie King Conlon

Conlon, a native of Los Angeles, California voiced a young Faline. Faline was a deer and Bambi first noticed her once he saw his reflection in a pond. A little bit after this, Faline showed up and her reflection appeared to him, so he looked up and noticed her right beside him. Faline started to move towards Bambi but he backed up.

When Bambi ran away from Faline and back to his mother, she chased after him and her mother was right next to Bambi's mother. Bambi's mom told Bambi not to be shy around Faline so he said hello to her. Faline laughed at Bambi once he tripped and fell into a nearby pond. Both Faline and Bambi then started to play around and get better acquainted. Conlon starred in the 1939 films, "Gone with the Wind" and "Blondie Meets the Boss".
6. I broke some sad news to Bambi one night. Who voiced me?

Answer: Fred Shields

Shields, born in 1904 in Kansas City, Missouri lent his voice to the Great Prince of the Forest, Bambi's father. The Great Prince was a big deer who was first seen when all the deer in the forest converged on the plain and he noticed Bombi. The Great Prince then walked off and Bambi's mother explained to Bambi how he was a respected deer due to how long he had lived.

The Great Prince then noticed some birds flying away and he realized a hunter was in the forest. The Great Prince ran back to the other deer to warn them about it and run.

In a later scene, Bambi went looking for his mother, after they both ran away from a hunter and The Great Prince informed him that his mother had died. Bambi shed a tear over this news and followed The Great Prince at his request. Shields voiced characters in the movies, "Victory Vehicles", "Pluto and the Armadillo" and "How to Play Baseball".
7. I rubbed my antlers on a tree in which the Friend Owl sat. Who voiced me?

Answer: Hardie Albright

Albright, born on December 16th, 1903 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania voiced an adolescent Bambi. Bambi returned to his home once he got older and noticed the Friend Owl sitting atop a tree. To get Friend Owl's attention, he rubbed his antlers on the tree, which caused it to shake.

He then asked Friend Owl if he remembered him. Friend Owl immediately recognized the deer as Bambi, the young prince, and commented on how much he had changed. He commented on how Bambi apparently traded in the spots on his body for a pair of antlers. Friend Owl told Bambi that he spoke to someone else the other day about what could have possibly come of him. Albright guest starred on the TV shows, "The Monroes", "The Iron Horse" and "Gunsmoke".
8. I asked Bambi if he remembered me. Who voiced me?

Answer: Sam Edwards

Edwards, a native of Macon, Georgia lent his voice to an adolescent Thumper. Once Bambi returned as an older deer, Thumper went to say hello to him and asked him if he remembered him. That was when Thumper thumped his foot on the log where he stood and Bambi immediately recognized him as Thumper. Thumper then noticed a couple of birds who were fluttering around with each other so he wondered why they were acting that way.

After watching the birds fly away, angry at each other, Thumper promised that he would not fight with Bambi, since he cherished their friendship. Edwards had guest starring stints on the TV series', "The Dukes of Hazzard", "The Streets of San Francisco" and "Kolchak: The Night Stalker".
9. I blushed when I saw Bambi as an adolescent. Who voiced me?

Answer: Tim Davis

Davis voiced the adolescent Flower in "Bambi". Flower said hello to Bambi and Thumper when those two reunited as adolescents and Bambi said hello, which caused Flower to blush. Flower then ran off into the forest with Bambi and Thumper, where he came upon a noise in a bouquet of flowers.

He noticed a pair of eyes and then saw there was a skunk in the midst of the bouquet. He backed off and turned around to notice Thumper and Bambi walking off. As he went to catch up with them, the skunk laughed and Flower saw her wave to him.

He waved back at her and then he blushed once she kissed him. Thumper and Bambi looked back once they realized Flower was not behind them and they saw him with the female skunk. Thumper and Bambi realized Flower was in love with her so they figured it was best to leave him with the female skunk. Davis had roles in the films, "Tex Rides with the Boy Scouts", "Savage Beach" and "Invader".
10. I explained to Bambi, Flower and Thumper that the two birds who fluttered around with each other were "twitterpated". Who voiced me?

Answer: Will Wright

Wright, born in 1891 in San Francisco, California lent his voice to Friend Owl. Right before Friend Owl reunited with an older Bambi, he yelled at a bunch of birds to stop singing but they didn't listen to Friend Owl's request. After Bambi, Flower and Thumper asked about the two birds they saw fluttering around, he explained to them they were "twitterpated". All three of them asked him what it meant so Friend Owl gave them an example of its meaning.

He asked them to think about it as if they were walking along minding their own business and then ran into a pretty face.

He said that it would be in that instance when they felt light as a feather and as if they were walking on air. Friend Owl then explained all three would in that scenario be knocked for a loop and feel as if they lost their heads. Friend Owl stated that being "twitterpated" could not just happen to Thumper, Bambi and Flower but to any animal. Wright starred in the movies, "Cape Fear" (1962), "The Deadly Companions" and "Gunman's Walk".
