'Jaws' is set in the town of Amity, in New England. When a body washes up on the beach there, the medical examiner believes that the man was killed by a shark. A few days later the shark attacks again, and so the hunt begins. The mayor of the town is keen to avoid scaring away the July 4th holiday makers, so when the body of a tiger shark is brought in by fishermen, the mayor is happy to declare the beach safe once more. Needless to say, further attacks follow before the shark is finally caught. Roy Scheider iss the police chief, Robert Shaw the shark hunter, Quint, and Richard Dreyfuss plays shark expert Matt Hooper.

'1941' is set in the days after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbour. The people of California are all in a state of panic, fearing an invasion by the Japanese. He built a device to communicate with his kind, but the task force are equally busy, trying to track down the alien. The movie was released in 1982, and is one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

When the security system of the park is disabled, the dinosaurs are able to escape from their enclosures and a group of visitors to the park are left to run for their lives. Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Attenborough also starred in this great Spielberg movie.

Liam Neeson played Oskar Schindler in this highly acclaimed film, which was based on a true story. He was a factory owner during the second world war and when he saw how the Jews were being treated he began to use his factory to hide them and save them from the gas chambers at Auschwitz. Schindler saved over a thousand Jews during the war.

This movie is also set during World War II. 'Saving Private Ryan' tells the story of the search for a paratrooper by the name of Ryan, who is behind enemy lines. Three of his brothers have been killed and when General Marshall discovers that the fourth brother is missing, he sent out a unit to find him and send him home.

The group charged with finding Ryan have mixed feelings about their task, especially when the job proved to be dangerous and one by one they are being picked off.

'Amistad' is based on a revolt by Africans on the slave ship Amistad in 1839. The slaves take control of the ship, but the American navy captures them and takes them to America. Anthony Hopkins is John Quincy Adams.

She was married off to a man who used her as a mother to his own children, and as a resident slave. She meets Shug (played by Margaret Avery), who helps her to learn about life's truths and to love herself enough to change from a downtrodden woman to a self-sufficient and strong one. Oprah Winfrey played the part of Sofia.

He remembers how to be young again and battles with Captain Hook, in order to save his children. Gwyneth Paltrow is Young Wendy, Glenn Close is Gutless and Maggie Smith plays the middle-aged Wendy.

'Empire of the Sun' is based on J.G. Ballard's autobiographical novel. He met Basie (John Malkovich) in the camp, where he develops admiration for the other prisoners and for their Japanese guards.

When her son recovers, he returns home. David then has to try to win back his mother's love, while his 'brother' manipulates him to force Monica to abandon him.
