Answer: The Guns of Navarone

In "The Guns of Navarone", Anthony Quinn plays a Greek Colonel, part of a British led team sent to destroy massive gun emplacements on the Greek island of Navarone. They overlook a nearby strait and can quite easily sink anything travelling through. A flotilla of Royal Navy warships evacuating endangered British troops is due to pass through in a couple of days and it is vital to disable the guns before they arrive.

The supervillain Bane is trying to destroy Gotham City and the police force just cannot cope with the demands being put on it so Batman decides to return from exile and take on Bane, aided by the mysterious Catwoman.

Samuel L. Jackson received a Best Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar nomination for "Pulp Fiction". Three interrelated stories involving two hitmen are brought together in the film. The hitmen, played by Samuel Jackson and John Travolta are trying to recover a briefcase belonging to their employer.

The three stories slowly come together in a series of funny and bizarre situations. Quentin Tarantino won the Oscar for "Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen" for this film.

Answer: G.I. Jane

In "G.I. Jane", Demi Moore famously shaves her head. When the would-be Navy Secretary comes under pressure to allow women to join the Navy's Seal training program, Lt. Jordan O'Neill (Demi Moore) is selected to prove it possible. Nobody expects her to succeed as 60% of male trainees fail to complete the course. I'll let you guess what happens.

In "Air Force One" Harrison Ford plays President Marshall who has a policy of not bending to terrorism. On a flight back to the USA from Russia, the plane is hi-jacked and demands are made which, if not agreed to, will result in one of the people on board the plane being killed every half hour. Luckily for the world, President Marshall is a Medal of Honor recipient.

Answer: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman play Robin Hood and Azeem respectively in the film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves". Azeem feels Robin saved his life when they escape from some Turks in the crusades. He promises to stick with Robin until his debt is paid.

They return to England to find Robin's father has been murdered by the Sheriff of Nottingham who has also helped Prince John to take the throne of England from his brother Richard while he is overseas fighting in the crusades. Robin joins a band of exiled villagers and becomes their leader. Together they fight to remove the Sheriff.

Answer: There's Something About Mary

Cameron Diaz starred in the comedy "There's Something About Mary", which tells the story of Ted, the school geek, who is due to go to the prom with his dream girl Mary, played by Cameron. He doesn't make it due to an accident with his trouser zip and ends up in hospital instead of the prom.

The pair lose contact and Ted tries to locate her some 13 years later by hiring a detective who also falls in love with Mary. Needless to say, Ted eventually meets Mary and some funny scenes follow.

Answer: Dirty Harry

In "Dirty Harry", Clint Eastwood plays police Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan. A maniac known as the "Scorpio Killer" has killed a woman at random and left a ransom note threatening to kill again unless he is paid $100,000. Harry finds the note. The mayor agrees to the demands despite Harry's objections.

Another note is received from Scorpio claiming he has kidnapped a teenage girl. Harry gets on the trail and has to use all his experience to find Scorpio and the girl.

Answer: As Good As It Gets

Helen Hunt plays Carol, a waitress who works in a cafe where Melvin (Jack Nicholson), a very rude writer eats. He is so rude to that Carol is the only waitress who will serve him. When Melvin's neighbour Simon, a gay artist, leaves his dog to be looked after by Melvin, his hard exterior starts to soften.

When he discovers how badly life is treating Carol, he starts to build a relationship with her. Helen Hunt won the 1998 Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for this film.

Answer: Con Air

Nicolas Cage plays Cameron Poe, a decorated United States Army Ranger, who returns home to his wife Tricia. He runs into some drunken men where a fight develops during which Cameron accidentally kills one of the drunks. He is found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sent to a prison where he serves seven years.

When released, he is looking forward to returning to his wife and daughter. However, the prison transport plane he is on also has some very dangerous criminals on board who are being transferred to another prison. Cameron learns that they intend to hijack the plane and fly it out of the country.

He has to find a way to stay alive and also spoil their plans.
