Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which instrument did Polly study for more then eight years as a youngster?

Answer: Saxophone

Polly played the saxophone in her pre-PJ Harvey days in the bands: the Polekats, the Stoned Weaklings, Boulogne and Automatic Dlamini. John Parish and Rob Ellis were members of Automatic Dlamini; Polly has continued to work with them both.
2. What did Polly study at college after leaving her hometown of Yeovil, Dorset?

Answer: Sculpture

Polly moved to London to study for a degree in sculpture at Central Saint Martin's College of Art. It was soon after that Polly formed PJ Harvey with Rob Ellis and Ian Oliver (replaced by Stephen Vaughan). Music quickly became Polly's focus though she still sculpts and some of her sculptures have been exhibited at the Lamont Gallery and the Bridport Arts Centre.
3. Polly formed the original line up of PJ Harvey in 1991. What was the name of their debut single?

Answer: Dress

"Dress" was released on the independent record label Too Pure; it was followed a year later by the critically acclaimed album "Dry". John Peel was a huge fan and played their records endlessly as well as inviting them to record their first "Peel Session".
4. In 1991 Polly provided backing vocals for which Indie band?

Answer: The Family Cat

8. Thom Yorke (Radiohead) duets with Polly on which song?
