Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Right or wrong, my song is strong." What song is this lyric from?

Answer: The Power Of Equality

This song was written to say that everyone is the same, no matter what their race, religion or sex.
This song was also used on the game, "Tony Hawk's Underground 2".
2. "He's a freak of nature, but we love him so, he's a freak of nature but we let him go" What song is this lyric from?

Answer: Sir Psycho Sexy

"Enter Sandman", Metallica:

"Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take"

("Sir Psycho Sexy")
"Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the funk will make me freak
If I should die before I waked
Allow me Lord to rock out naked"

This is also a famous prayer.
3. "A mountain never has the need to speak". What song is this from?

Answer: I Could Have Lied

It's about Anthony going out with an Irish actress superstar and one day, she left him a note, saying goodbye and that she was leaving town. I think before that, he told her the truth about something, and and she left him. He could have lied and everything would've been fine.

It was about his relationship with Sinéad O'Connor in 1990.
4. The line: "Rarely do friends, come and then go" is from which song?

Answer: Breaking The Girl

This song is about a man who is a player, does what he wants. He meets this girl and automatically knows she is the one... ("a feeling of love that day")... But he just can't get out of his instincts of being the player he is. They are falling in love but he knows he has to break up with her... knowing this will break her... he feels bad.... ("she meant you no harm")... but he just can't seem to make it work for him. ("He loves no one else") I think means that either he only loves himself or he truly does love her but just can't seem to make this work.
5. Is the line: "Confusion is my middle name, ask me again and I'll tell you the same" from the song "Funky Monks"?

Answer: yes

This song is about travelling on tour and meeting all the different fans etc.
And the first two lines, 'There are no monks in my band, There are no saints in this land' refers to the fact that while they are not all good and pure like monks, neither is anyone else, so they shouldn't be judged for what they do.
6. "Someone full on fun, do me till I'm well done" is from which song?

Answer: Suck My Kiss

This song is about sex and a drug addiction, as most of the songs on "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" are.
7. "Don't ask me why, I'm flying so high" is a line from which song?

Answer: If You Have To Ask

This song is about the state of some parts of society that aren't too nice, like criminal areas. As in some places these bank robberies and stuff are a common occurrence, and it's about how some people want to find out about the bad areas of society but "if you have to ask you'll never know" you have to experience these things for yourself, John Frusciante does the backing "If You Have To Ask" in the chorus.
And the "If you have to ask, you'll never know" line is a quote from Louis Armstrong when he was asked what jazz was.
8. Is the line: "Rocking to the beat of the fabulous forum" from "Funky Monks"?

Answer: no

It is from "Mellowship Slinky In B Major".
9. The lyric "I miss you Slim, I love you too, see my heart in black and blue, but when I die I will find you" is from which song?

Answer: My Lovely Man

This song was dedicated to the memory of Hillel Slovak, who died of a overdose on the 25th of June, 1988.
10. The lyric "Yes my favourite place to be, is not a land called Honah Lee" is from which song?

Answer: Apache Rose Peacock

Louis Armstrong was a jazz musician who starred in a film called "New Orleans", and Flea was a fan of this film so he came out with the idea of making a song about New Orleans!
