The band Blood, Sweat & Tears was formed in New York City in 1967. Al Kooper played keyboards and did much of the lead vocal work in the beginning. David Clayton-Thomas replaced Al Kooper as lead vocalist for BS&T in 1968 because his vocals were stronger than Kooper's.
