"God's Not Dead" was written by Daniel Bashta. When recorded by Passion (with David Crowder), the original title was "Like a Lion." In 2011 the Newsboys covered it with the title "God's Not Dead (Like a Lion)."

In 2014, the movie "God's Not Dead" was released, and the song was used; the Newsboys had a cameo in the film.
