Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What song contains the lyrics: "When you find a love When you know that it exists Then the lover that you miss"?

Answer: "Jesus To A Child"

From the album 'Older' (1996)
The song was a melancholy tribute to Michael's Brazilian friend and lover Anselmo Feleppa.
The two had met when Michael was performing in Rio de Janeiro in 1991, and Feleppa died two years later from an AIDS-related brain haemorrhage.
Michael had been unable to write for the next 18 months as a consequence of his grief, but then penned the words to "Jesus To A Child" in little more than an hour, indicating that the time was right to move on with his life.
2. What song do the following lyrics come from: "You tried to save me from myself Said 'Darling, kiss as many as you want! My love's still available And I know you're insatiable"?

Answer: "Amazing"

"Amazing" is the first single off "Patience" released in 2004.
"Amazing", went to number 1 in Italy, Spain and Portugal and topped the world airplay chart for 20 March 2004. The song reached number 4 in the UK and number 6 in Australia and the song made 22 different charts.
3. In what song does George sing: "I won't let you down I will not give you up Gotta have some faith in the sound It's the one good thing that I've got"?

Answer: "Freedom '90"

From the album 'Listen Without Predujice' (1990)
The song was a highly-praised confessional project from George, acknowledging his fortune and luck from his early days with Wham! - referring directly to Andrew Ridgeley as his "buddy" - but maintaining that he was a changed man, with a more cynical and grown-up attitude to the business he was in. The song also alludes heavily to the struggles of being a closet homosexual, and acted as a catalyst to his effort to break free from his publishing contract with Sony Music.

As if to prove the song's sentiment, George refused to appear in the video, which was directed by David Fincher, and instead recruited a number of supermodels (including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Tatjana Patitz and Cindy Crawford) to mouth the words. It also featured the destruction of various symbols of George's past, including the famous guitar, jukebox, and leather jacket of the Faith era.
4. Which George Michael song features the following lyric: "And people Will always make a lover feel a fool But you knew I loved you We could have shown them all"?

Answer: "Kissing A Fool"

From the album 'Faith' (1987)
A ballad with minimal instrumentation and a jazz feel, the song was written about George's insecurities as a soulmate and partner because of the baggage and reputation with which he came.
"Kissing A Fool" was Michael's last single for almost two years in the United Kingdom.
5. "All you do is love and love is all you do I should know by now the way I fought for you You're not to blame Everyone's the same" is from which song?

Answer: "Cowboys And Angels"

From the album 'Listen Without Predujice' (1990)
"Kissing a Fool" became the first single released by George in his career which did not make the Top 40 of the UK singles chart. It peaked at #45 on release in March 1991.
6. What is the name of the song containing these lyrics: "That's all you wanted Something special, someone sacred - In your life Just for one moment To be warm and naked At my side"?

Answer: "Father Figure"

From the album 'Faith' (1987)
The song was actually supposed to be an uptempo dance track, but the snare drum was accidentally left out of the mix during recording, turning it into the slow and rather ethereal tune it is known for being.

George Michael and Andy Morahan won "Best Direction of a Video" at the 1988 MTV Video Music Awards for "Father Figure."
7. Which song are these lines taken from: "(would you like me to seduce you, is that what your trying to tell me?) (everybody wants a lover like that) baby (everybody wants a lover like that) yeah! Yeah! (everybody wants a lover like that) everybody, everybody (everybody wants a lover like that)"?

Answer: "Too Funky"

From the album 'Ladies And Gentlemen CD2 - For The Feet' (1998)
The song was lyrically a basic, animalistic plea from George for sexual activity with an individual and musically it was the most upbeat record he had released since Faith almost five years previously.

It featured a clip from the 1967 movie "The Graduate". Anne Bancroft's line of "Would you like me to seduce you? Is that what you're trying to tell me?" was repeated during the final crescendo. The song then ended with a sample from the BBC sitcom Hancock's Half Hour, with the line "Will you stop playing with that radio of yours? I'm trying to get to sleep!".
8. Pick the song which these lyrics are taken from: "That's why I'm always gettin' stoned yeah That's why I'm out there havin' fun again Good puppy, good puppy Rolling on over"

Answer: "Shoot The Dog"

From the album 'Patience' (2004)
"Shoot the Dog" is a critical song about the friendly relationship between the governments of the U.S. and the UK towards the Iraqi War. In the animated music video for the song, Tony Blair is depicted as the "dog" that follows his "owner" (George W. Bush) everywhere.
In George's latest tour, an inflatable British Bulldog doll is seen ...serving Bush on stage.
9. "Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see" is a line from which George Michael song?

Answer: "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me"

From the album 'Ladies And Gentlemen CD1 - For The Heart' (1998)
Duet with Elton john.
"Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" is the first single from British musician Elton John's 1974 album Caribou; it was released that year during the latter half of May in Great Britain, and on June 10 in the United States.

As successful as the 1974 record had been, it was as a duet with George Michael that "Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me" had its greatest success. The pair had performed the song at the Live Aid concert in 1985. Recorded live at a concert at Wembley Stadium, London on March 25, 1991 when Elton John was a surprise guest of George Michael, the duet became a massive hit on both sides of the Atlantic. It was released later that year and reached number one on the UK singles chart for two weeks in December 1991 and a single week on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1992. The song was the only #1 single of the modern era to be recorded at an outdoors venue.
10. And finally. These words are sung in which song: "I don't understand it For you it's a breeze Little by little You've brought me to my knees Don't you care?"?

Answer: "A Different Corner"

From the album 'Ladies And Gentlemen CD1 - For The Heart' (1998)
At the time of its release in April 1986, Michael was still a member of pop duo Wham!, though he and partner Andrew Ridgeley had announced that they would split in the summer after a farewell single, album and concert.
