"Like a Prayer" is a song from Madonna's fourth studio album, which was also entitled "Like a Prayer", released in March 1989. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in April of the same year and stayed there for three weeks. It also reached number one in the UK Singles Chart and again stayed there for three weeks. Pepsi-Cola featured the song in an advertising campaign but it proved so controversial that they had to cancel the campaign.

"Mary's Prayer" was a 1987 hit for the Scottish rock band Danny Wilson. In the UK it reached number three in the singles chart. In America it reached 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track appears on the band's debut album "Meet Danny Wilson". Interestingly there is no-one called Danny Wilson in the band.
They took their name from a 1952 Frank Sinatra film called "Meet Danny Wilson" which was a favourite film of the father of Gary and Kit Clark, two of the founding members of the band.

"Millenium Prayer" was a 1999 single released by Cliff Richard. It was released as a charity single with the proceeds going to the charity Children's Promise. In Britain it was panned by critics and many radio stations refused to air it. However this did not stop it reaching number one in the UK singles chart and it narrowly missed being the Christmas number one when, after three weeks, it was overtaken by the Irish boy band Westlife.

In the UK it peaked at number 14 in the singles charts and in America it reached 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. The third track to be used as a single from the album was entitled "Kiss from a Rose" which was used on the soundtrack of the 1995 film "Batman Forever".
