Answer: First Single

After eight failed singles and one single that broke the top forty five, The Supremes had their first number one single in "Where Did Our Love Go". Their next four singles would also go to number one in the Billboard Top 100. The song held the position from August 16 to August 29, 1964. The other four singles are "Baby Love", "Come See About Me", "Stop! In the Name of Love", and "Back in My Arms Again".
7. The Smashing Pumpkins on the first EP of their box set "The Aeroplane Flies High" did several covers, including one called "A Night Like This". The Cure wrote and recorded the song for their album "The Head on the Door". This album is the first to feature what member of The Cure?

Answer: Boris Williams

The Cure fired their previous drummer, Andy Anderson, for destroying a hotel room in 1984. They then hired Boris Williams, who was with the band until 1993. "The Head on the Door" also marks the return of Simon Gallup.
8. Some songs have quite dark subject matter, such as Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska" The song talks about the killing spree Charles Starkweather and his teenage girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate perpetrated in 1957 and 1958. According to the song, ten people died. In actuality, eleven people died, including a gas attendant the couple murdered two months before the killing spree began in earnest. What was their first victim's name?

Answer: Robert Colvert

Charles Starkweather and his thirteen year old girlfriend murdered eleven people, including Caril's mother and stepfather, Velda and Marion Bartlett. He also murdered Caril's two year old baby sister, Betty Jean. On June 25, 1959, Charles Starkweather was executed by the electric chair. Caril Ann Fugate got out on parole in 1976.

The murders heavily influenced Stephen King. According to "The Stand", Charles Starkweather is the classmate of the main villain Randall Flag. Also, the Trashcan Kid from that same novel is based on Starkweather.
9. There's been a lot of famous live albums out there. Steve Perry of Journey, in order to pump up the audience, draws their attention to two microphones, stating that the band is recording a live album at this very concert and the audience is here for the event. What's the album?

Answer: Captured

Journey assembled the album from various tour dates from their "Departure Tour". The album features the previously unrecorded "Dixie Highway", as well as one studio track, "The Party's Over (Hopelessly in Love)". Steve Perry tells the audience they are recording a live album on the track "Too Late". The album sold over two million copies.
10. Clarence "Tom" Ashley recorded the song "The House Carpenter", also known as "The Daemon Lover". The song became famous in the folk movement of the 1950s and 1960s due to Harry Everett Smith including the song on "Anthology of American Folk Music". The song appeared in "Ballads Weird and Wonderful", a book that had twenty five ballads, published in 1912 and illustrated by whom?

Answer: Vernon Hill

According to the critic for the New York Times, Vernon Hill's illustrations for "The House Carpenter" were among the best of Hill's career. Hill would later go on to be primarily a sculptor. This is what the New York Times had to say:

"... the design of Satan rushing down through the waves with the boat containing the faithless wife, is tremendous. Satan himself has one of the most graceful and beautiful human bodies over drawn; the rhythm of the whole is thrilling, and the conventionalized waves are splendid. There are two pictures of the dead Christ which are solemnly and mystically impressive; "Edward, Edward" and "Hugh of Lincoln" are powerful and imaginative, and the arm and torso of "The Mermaid" are rare in their suggestion of soft and perfect beauty."

"The House Carpenter" dates back to the 1600s, and numerous artists of the folk movement had recorded the song. Bob Dylan's version came out on his "Bootleg Series Vol. 1-3" in 1991.
