According to the Wikipedia.org website, lyricinterpretations.com and songfacts.com, Kelly wrote the lyrics to deal with her emotional pain at the time. She later approached Moody and Hodges to polish it up for her and add music. Through this song she sings about her troubled childhood.

This song was released in 2005 and according to the wikipedia.org website, it is actually a song written about an ex-boyfriend (David Hodges). He left her so that he could marry his ex-girlfriend. She sings about her broken heart and the fact that no-one cares about the tears she has shed 'behind those hazel eyes'.
