Featured on the "Lakewood Live: We Speak to Nations" CD, "Better Than Life" was written by Lakewood worship leaders Cindy Cruse-Ratcliff and Israel Houghton. Actually, over half of the songs on both "Lakewood Live" CD's, 17 of 28, were written by the team of Cruse-Ratcliff and Houghton.

In an interview with Dwayne Lacy for Gospelflava.com, Cruse-Ratcliff explained that she and Houghton "write easily together". She further explained that they have a "unique mix" because they each have "strengths and weaknesses in different areas".
