Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Back around the time when Megadeth released "Killing Is My Business", the band was rehearsing in a studio called Mars Studios. What was the address number?

Answer: 665

David Ellefson referred to the place as a dump, yet said how cool it was to rehearse in it.
2. During the "Killing Is My Business" tour, who played for Chris Poland?

Answer: Mike Albert

Chris barely showed up for rehearsals and recordings, so he just blew off the tour altogether.
3. When Dave Mustaine was in Metallica, the band released a demo tape. What was its name?

Answer: No Life Til Leather

This question is best answered soley by process of elimination. First of all, "Kill 'Em All" was the name of the album the band made after Dave Mustaine was kicked out. "Power Metal" has nothing to do with anything Metallica or Dave Mustaine have ever recorded, and "Metallica" wasn't released until 1991.
4. Dave Mustaine fired Jeff Young because he suspected him of having an affair with his girlfriend. What was his girlfriend's name?

Answer: Diana

Jeff Young wasn't really having an affair with Diana, but Dave Mustaine had been on so many drugs at that time period that he didn't either know or care.
5. Dave Mustaine was once the poster boy for MTV's "Rock the Vote".

Answer: True

It seems a bit ironic, because by that time Dave Mustaine was so messed up from all the drugs he had been taking.
6. There was a studio where Megadeth auditioned Marty Friedman, and also wrote most of "Countdown to Extinction". What was the name of the studio?

Answer: The Power Plant

There was a basketball hoop behind the studio. The band used to go back there and shoot hoops. After they were done, Dave Mustaine would have another riff in mind to write down.
7. In what room of this studio did Megadeth audition Marty Friedman in?

Answer: 3

8. In a series of European shows, Megadeth actually opened up for Metallica! When did this odd event happen?

Answer: Summer of 1993

Dave Mustaine was watching Kirk Hammett the whole time, and was disappointed that Kirk was supposed to replace him. Dave thought that Kirk was horrible.
9. How many songs were on the demo tape that Metallica released while Dave Mustaine was with them?

Answer: 7

Many of the songs from the demo were co-written by Dave Mustaine.
10. What Metallica song did Megadeth remake in a faster manner, and with different lyrics?

Answer: The Four Horsemen

The original name of "The Four Horsemen" was "The Mechanics", and that name appears on the "No Life Til Leather" demo. But, when Megadeth redid the song, they changed the name to "Mechanix". The song is played at least twice as fast, and the lyrics are totally different than "The Four Horsemen".
