Electronic surgical words"

This song "Radio Cure" is from their fourth album, "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" (2001). Interestingly, after the band finished recording he album, their record label Reprise Records said "No Thanks" and ousted Wilco from the label, giving Wilco the rights to the album for free.
6. "I was making my way through the wasteland The road into town passes through I was changing the radio stations With my mind on you." This song, "Song On The Radio" is from the 1978 album "Time Passages" by whom?

Answer: Al Stewart

"'Cause you and me baby
I saw you there
Straight away I knew
There's really no hiding
I'll tell you right now
What we're gonna do
We'll go collecting the days
Putting the moments away
You're on my mind like a
Song on the Radio"

The song reached Number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. Interestingly, Al Stewart says that he recorded this record as a way of making fun of Arista Records who had asked him to record a mid-tempo ballad with a saxophone on it. The label said they wanted a song that could be played on the radio. So Stewart titled his song 'Song on the Radio' somewhat sarcastically. He thought they would see through the joke but he says they didn't and they released it as a single and ironically it became a Top 40 hit.

Answer: Vanessa Carlton

As a single, the song "Private Radio" was released only in Asia.

"All the world has gone to bed
And I am drowning in it's silence
But a solitude is in my head, from you, maybe
And if the silence was a song
Well, its rhythm grooves and it's a private radio
And on this night I did belong
In harmony."
8. "Boys On The Radio" by the group Hole: "Oh the boys on the radio They crash and burn They fold and fade so slow In your endless summer night" Who is Hole's lead singer?

And I'll throw it all away
Oh the boys on the radio
They crash and burn."

For one thing it stands for the call letters on the Los Angeles radio station he listened to while he worked on the album in L.A.--station KCLA. And on the other hand, according to Songfacts.com, it also stands for what?

Answer: Can't Leave you Alone

The track is from his 2013 album "Black on Blonde" and the song features various artists (Travie McCoy, Black Thought, Corey Hart, etc.) handling different verses. Radio station KCLA was known for playing an eclectic mix of music styles, and that's what helped influence k-os to feature an eclectic mix of music on his album.
10. This British punk rock band has not one, not two, but three songs about the radio. Two of them are "Capital Radio One" which is the original version released in 1977, and and updated version called "Capital Radio Two" for their 1979 album "Super Black Market Clash."

Answer: The Clash

Here's a little of "Capitol Radio One/Two":

"There's a tower in the heart of London
With a radio station right at the top
They don't make the city beat
They're making all the action stop."

Oh, and I did mention that they had three songs. Here's a bonus from their song "This is Radio Clash" from their 1981 album "The Essential Clash":

"Interrupting all programs
This is radio clash from pirate satellite
Orbiting your living room,
Cashing in the bill of rights
Cuban army surplus or refusing all third lights
This is radio clash on pirate satellite."
