Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) was arguably the most gifted composer that has ever lived. "Die Zauberfloete", Mozart's last opera, premiered on September 30, 1791.
2. Who composed "Rigoletto"?

Answer: Verdi

"Rigoletto" premiered on March 11, 1850 in Venice. Verdi lived from 1813 - 1901. Giuseppe Verdi literally translated means "Joe Greens".
3. What was Beethoven's only opera?

Answer: Fidelio

"Fidelio" opened in 1814. Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827) surprisingly only composed one opera. "Norma" is a Bellini opera, "Otello" was written by Verdi, and "Lohengrin" is a Wagner opera.
