Answer: The Twist

"The Twist" was originally released by Hank Ballard in 1959. It was a minor hit that reached number 28 on the Billboard chart, but Chubby Checker's cover version shot to number one on September 19, 1960. It then reappeared at number one for two weeks in January of 1962. "The Twist" is ranked number 451 on "Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Hits Of All Time" list.
2. (From 2tough4u). In the song "Purple People Eater" there are three other rock and roll titles or lyrics mentioned. Which is not one of them?

Answer: Louie Louie

Parents, fearing that the lyrics were obscene, asked government officials to investigate. After two years of listening over and over, the FBI determined that not only was there no obscenity, but they could not even understand the lyrics! Wonder what they would think of rap music!

Answer: Move It

"Move It" by Cliff Richard And The Drifters (later to become The Shadows) was originally meant to be the B -side of "Schoolboy Crush". "Move It" and "Shakin All Over" by Johnny Kidd And The Pirates are often regarded as the first R&R records produced outside of the U.S. Footage of "Sir Cliff" singing "Move It" on the TV music show "Oh Boy" show was a young and sexy Elvis wannabe. Rather different from the image he later developed which has seen him become the only act to have hit records over a period of six decades.

Answer: Bobbie Gentry

"Ode To Billie Joe was written and performed by Bobbie Gentry. She was born Roberta Streeter in 1944 and was married to singer Jim Stafford. On several occasions she recorded with Glen Campbell. As a matter of interest, "Ode To Billie Joe" recharted in 1976 and reached number 65 on the charts.

Answer: aaaH-aH, yawA eM ekaT oT gnimoC er'yehT
