Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I'm a space cowboy; bet you weren't ready for that. I'm a space cowboy; I'm sure you know where it's at, yeah yeah yeah yeah."

Answer: Steve Miller

"Space Cowboy", from the album "Brave New World", originally released in 1969. This was Miller's third album, and one of four albums released by the band between 1968 and 1969. His breakthrough album is considered to be "The Joker", released in 1973.
2. "Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dreams. I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been."

Answer: Led Zeppelin

"Kashmir", from the album "Physical Graffiti", originally released in 1975. Bonzo's drumming makes this song an unforgettable one.
3. "My old man was born to rock; he's still trying to beat the clock. Think of me what you will; I've got a little space to fill. So, let's get to the point; let's roll another joint."

Answer: Tom Petty

"You Don't Know How It Feels", from the album "Wildflowers", originally released in 1994. Petty also made a version of this tune where the word "joint" is sung backwards, just to appease the censors.
4. "I miss the Earth so much, I miss my wife. It's lonely out in space, on such a timeless flight. And I think it's gonna be a long, long time."

Answer: Elton John

"Rocket Man", from the album "Honky Chateau", originally released in 1972. In Russia, this tune is known as "Cosmonaut".
5. "Yeah, darling, go and make it happen; take the world in a love embrace. Fire all of your guns at once and explode into space."

Answer: Steppenwolf

"Born to Be Wild", from Steppenwolf's self-titled debut album, originally released in 1968. This classic is often credited with introducing the term "heavy metal" into the lexicon of rock 'n' roll, from the lyrics, "I like smoke and lightning, heavy metal thunder, racin' with the wind, and the feeling that I'm under."
6. "She said, 'My breasts, they will always be open. Baby, you can rest your weary head right on me. And there will always be a space in my parking lot, when you need a little coke and sympathy.'"

Answer: The Rolling Stones

"Let It Bleed", from the album of the same name, originally released in 1969. From beginning to end, "Let It Bleed" is one of the best albums ever made.
7. "Think of all the hate there is in Red China; then take a look around to Selma, Alabama. You may leave here for four days in space, but when you return it's the same old place."

Answer: Barry McGuire

"Eve of Destruction", originally released as a single in 1965. This one-hit wonder went to #1 in 1965 without receiving much radio airplay. McGuire was a member of the New Christy Minstrels between 1962 and 1964.
