Answer: The Jelly Beans

Freddy Cannon's "Action" peaked at number thirteen on the Billboard charts in August 1965. Sweet had some action with their song, as it peaked at number twenty in February 1976. This was the only action for Terror Fabulous coming in at number forty-three in July 1994. The Jelly Beans' biggest hit was "I Wanna Love Him So Bad" which reached number nine in June 1964.

The beautiful voice of Art Garfunkel managed to hit number nine on Billboard in September 1973. Rahzel's "All I Know" hit the charts for seven weeks, peaking at number fifty-two in July, 1999. Besides his many hits Billy Idol also appeared in the films "The Doors" and "The Wedding Singer".

From the CD (Appropriately titled "Burn") Jo Dee Messina managed to flame out at number forty-two on the Billboard charts in December 2000. Militia must have been busy fighting a war as this was their only charted song, reaching number fifty-two in January 1998. Mobb Deep, a rap duo from Queensbridge, New York, didn't go very deep with this song as it only got to number ninety-nine in January 2002. Grand Funk Railroad/Grand Funk/Grand Funk Railroad are a hard rock group from Flint, Michigan.

Blondie managed to top the Billboard charts with this theme from "American Gigolo" in February 1980. The "Queen of Soul" called in from the number thirteen position in February 1970: this was one of seventy-six songs to make the charts between 1961 and 1998 for Aretha Franklin. Johnny Mathis didn't phone this one in as he crooned his way to number two in September 1958. Chubby Checker was born Ernest Evans on March 3, 1941 in Andrews, S.C.

Billy Joel managed to get the question asked enough times to peak at number nineteen in Billboard in August 1980. Elvis had more than 150 charted songs and as expected some of them were B sides. This was the flip side of "Hard Headed Woman" and reached a respectable number twenty-five in July 1958. Annie and Dave got to number four (September 1989) with their song with this title. Jigsaw didn't get asked the question, because they were "Sky High" (number three August 1975).

They were En Vogue for eleven weeks as this song made it to number thirty-eight in August 1990. Besides being an R&B singer, Mel Carter acted in many television dramas including "Quincy".

Answer: Hues Corporation

Named after a 1927 Herman Hesse novel, Steppenwolf rocketed up the Billboard charts to number ten in March 1969. Nick Gilder was a founding member of Sweeney Todd but he left the barbershop for a solo career and in June 1979 inched up the charts to number fifty-seven with his song titled "Rock Me". Before the tragedy at a Rhode Island concert (2003) in which their guitarist Ty Longley and nearly 100 other people died, they managed to get "Rock Me" to number sixty in August, 1987. Hues Corporation didn't "Rock Me" but they did "Rock the Boat" tipping in at number one in May 1974.
