Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which acts hit the top three with two separate songs entitled "Angel"?

Answer: Madonna and Aerosmith

"This just can't be coincidence; the only way that this makes sense is that oo-oo you're an Angel" from Madonna, and of course, Aerosmith wanted their Angel to "come and save me tonight."
2. Which two bands had separate releases called "Notorious"?

Answer: Duran Duran and Loverboy

Duran Duran's version was produced by Nile Rodgers of Chic. Loverboy's "every mother's nightmare, every school boy's dream" was their last serious attempt at a US hit. It didn't quite make it.
3. Which two acts invited listeners to "Come Go With Me"?

Answer: The Beach Boys and Expose

The Beach Boys remade the fifties classic (dum-be-do-be-dum/ wo-wo-wo-wo-o.) The Expose version was in the first wave of the Latin Invasion, later in the decade.
4. Which two acts were "Head Over Heels"?

Answer: The Go-Go's and Tears for Fears

It was the last top ten hit for both the Go-Go's ("can't stop myself/ out of control")and Tears for Fears ("something happens and I'm Head over Heels.") The title must be jinxed, since neither of them had much success afterwards.
5. Which two artists went to "Heaven"?

Answer: Warrant and Bryan Adams

Bryan Adams owned the top spot for weeks on end "when you're lying here in my arms, I find it hard to believe, we're in Heaven." While for Warrant, "Heaven isn't so far away..."
6. Which two acts asked us "What About Love"?

Answer: Heart and Til Tuesday

Most people assume Til Tuesday was a one-hit wonder, but after their biggest hit, "Voices Carry" they hit lower on the charts with "Love in a Vaccuum," "Looking Over My Shoulder," "Coming up Close," "(Believed You Were) Lucky," and, yes "What About Love."
7. Which acts cried "Enough is Enough"?

Answer: Donna Summer/Barbra Streisand and April Wine

I know, the Summer/ Streisand song was released in 1979 -- but it was still all over the radio at the beginning of the decade. "Enough is enough is enough, I can't go on..." Sadly, the April Wine song (which certainly rocked harder!) didn't do so well. "You're my girl, and Enough is Enough!" Followed by a loud guitar riff.
8. Getting more difficult now: Who asked us "What About Me"?

Answer: Moving Pictures and Kenny Rogers/Kim Carnes/James Ingram

Rogers/ Carnes/ Ingram -- now there's a trio that could only happen in the eighties! A love triangle set to music, as each asked "what about me?" Most people remember Moving Pictures' "What about me? It isn't fair...." but how many remember the name of the band?
9. Which two acts were having "Sweet Dreams?"

Answer: Eurythmics and Air Supply

Air Supply "closed [their] eyes and had Sweet Dreams" whereas for Eurythmics, "Sweet Dreams are made of this."
10. Who performed "Heart & Soul" without mangling a piano?

Answer: T'Pau & The Monkees & Huey Lewis and the News

Top ten hits for T'pau ("Give a little bit of Heart and Soul, give a little bit of room to grow") and Huey Lewis and the News ("She's Heart and Soul, she's hot and cold.") The Monkees "Heart & Soul" was an attempted followup to their last hit "That was Then, This is Now." Great song, unfortunately most people don't want to hear another song from a nostalgia act. "Put your Heart and Soul where I can see them shine, put your Heart and Soul where I can know they're mine..."
