The English alternative rock band James were formed in Manchester in 1982, and are perhaps best known for their 1991 single "Sit Down". Their 1993 single "Laid" plays right at the start of the movie as the Universal logo appears and continues as we see Jim (played by Jason Biggs) and Michelle (played by Alyson Hannigan) enjoying a romantic meal in an expensive-looking restaurant.
The song plays again right at the end of the movie as we see Finch enjoying a post-wedding bath with Stifler's Mom (played by Jennifer Coolidge) and the end credits start to roll.
2. "Times Like These"

Founded by ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl in 1994, the US rock band Foo Fighters released the single "Times Like These" in 2003 as the second single from their fourth studio album "One by One". Born Damon Michael Gough on 2nd October 1969, Badly Drawn Boy is an English singer-songwriter. His 2002 single "You Were Right" plays as we see Michelle getting more and more disheartened as she and her Mom struggle to find Michelle the perfect wedding dress.
In these scenes we also see Finch doing "recon" by spying on the ladies to get information for Jim on the sort of wedding Michelle wants, and Stifler (played by Seann William Scott) planning possible bachelor part locations whist at football training.

American rock band The All-American Rejects was formed in Oklahoma in 1999. Released in 2002, "Swing, Swing" was their first single, and it plays as we see the main male characters in a bar talking about driving to Chicago to get Michelle the Amsale wedding dress she wants.

Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Michael Sembello was born on 17th April 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He co-wrote "Maniac" in 1983 with Dennis Matkosky, and it was used in the movie "Flashdance", which was released in the same year. It plays in "American Wedding" as Stifler inadvertently starts a dance-off with Bear (played by Eric Allan Kramer) in a gay club by performing a dance routine with some uniquely Stifler moves!
6. "The Reflex"

The English new wave / synthpop band Duran Duran were formed in Birmingham in 1978 by John Taylor and Nick Rhodes. Their 1984 single "The Reflex" the final song played during the Stifler v Bear dance off in the gay club. Other songs played during the dance off are "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" Belinda Carlisle, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics, and "Venus" by Bananarama.
7. "Round Round"

Formed in 1998, the British girl group Sugababes originally consisted of Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan, however Heidi Range had replaced Siobhán Donaghy by the time they released their single "Round Round", which reached number one in the UK singles chart, in 2002.
It plays immediately after the Stifler v Bear dance off while the guys are still in the gay club, and dressmaker Leslie Summers (played by Reynaldo Gallegos) introduces himself to Jim and says "you've got yourself a dress".

American rock band Good Charlotte were formed in Waldorf, Maryland in 1996, and originally consisted of twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden, Paul Thomas, and Aaron Escolopio. Taken from their second studio album "The Young and the Hopeless", their 2003 single "The Anthem" plays after the bachelor party scene as we see the wedding party getting into the cars and making the drive to the wedding venue.
9. "Fever for the Flava"
