Answer: Andy Gibb

Stephen Stills had gone two years without recording a solo album before the release of "Thorofare Gap" [Columbia:1978]; the Crosby, Stills, & Nash reunion album "CSN" was released in 1977. Michael Sembello recorded "Maniac" [from the movie "Flashdance"], while K.C. and Donna Summers were two of the defining voices/acts of the disco era.
2. Which southern-rock guitarist produced an album of Christmas music for Natalie Cole?

Answer: Freddie Salem

Freddie Salem was a guitarist/singer/songwriter for The Outlaws from 1977 until 1985 and, in 1982, released his solo album "Freddie Salem And The Wildcats: Cat Dance". 3. This country music performer has been credited with re-uniting The Eagles. Is he...?

Answer: Travis Tritt

Travis Tritt recorded his cover of "Take It Easy" for the various country artists' tribute album "Common Thread: The Songs Of The Eagles" [Giant Records:1993] and arranged for the The Eagles to reunite on-screen for the accompanying video. As Tritt stated, "I just called up Don Henley and Glenn Frey, and eventually all the rest agreed.

The reunion that happened after that was just a by-product" [quote from an Ian Nathanson article in the Ottawa Sun].
4. These two music superstars, one a rock and roll icon and the other a legendary singer of popular standards, were brought together on a television special to perform a Christmas carole duet; the song they shared vocals on became a Christmas-time favorite. Was that duo...?

Answer: Bing Crosby and David Bowie

On the September 11, 1977 Bing Crosby was in London, touring and taping his Christmas television special. Bing suggested that he use a modern star on the show to capture a younger audience and David Bowie's name was brought up. Crosby had never heard of Bowie but his children advised him of Bowie's reknown.

In one of those surreal moments that only television can bring, they performed a duet of "The Little Drummer/Peace On Earth". "Der Bingle" passed away 3 weeks after the program was filmed and a month before it aired.

In 1999, "TV Guide" named this generation-gap filling event one of television's top 25 moments.

Hank and Kid Rock also filmed an episode of "CMT's Crossroads" [original air date Feb. 17, 2003] and Kid Rock appears in Williams' video for his hit "Naked Women And Beer".

The duo has become best of friends, brought together by their love of music.
6. Frank Sinatra recorded two albums of duets with such pop stars as Tony Bennett, Anita Baker, Liza Minnnelli, Natalie Cole, and Luther Vandross [among others], sharing vocals on some of his greatest hits. Who was the rocker that Capitol Records insisted be included on the album?

Answer: Bono

The duo shared vocals on "I've Got You Under My Skin" for the album "Duets" [1993/Capitol EMI]. "Old Blue Eyes" and his duet partners never shared the studio or recorded together live; he previously recorded his tracks and, at a later date, producers picked who would lay down the second vocal track.
7. Dolly Parton is the "Queen of Duets". What may be her most bizarre duet can be found in the 1984 movie [and subsequent soundtrack album] "Rhinestone" where she shares songs with what non-musical actor?
