"With A Lot O' Soul" was an album produced by Norman Whitfield; it was the first LP produced by Norman. He became their producer after producing their single, "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" for them. At first the Temptations were known as Smokey Robinson's group. Smokey produced the single "Get Ready" for the Temps at the same time Norman produced "Ain't Too Proud To Beg". "Get Ready was released first but after it failed to do well on the music charts, Berry Gordy decided to release "Ain't Too Proud Too Beg" which did better than Smokey's song. So the Temps became Norman's project and "With A Lot O' Soul" was the first LP he produced.
