Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following records is considered the first Cramps EP?

Answer: Gravest Hits

"Gravest Hits" was a five song record that was recorded at Sun Studios. The only original was "Human Fly". Other songs were "The Way I Walk", "Domino" "Surfin' Bird" and "Lonesome Town".
2. What brand of guitar does Poison Ivy play?

Answer: Gretsch

Poison Ivy has played her orange-red Gretsch for some time. Since they're rockabilly fanatics, this adds a little rockabilly emphasis on their unique sound.
3. Who's the singer for the Cramps?

Answer: Lux Interior

Lux Interior and Poison Ivy started the band in a New York City apartment. They were married later.
4. What is the full name of the lead guitar player of the Cramps?

Answer: Poison Ivy Rorshach

Many people forget the last name of Poison Ivy. But the red headed ex-dominatrix has been playing lead guitar since day one.
5. What was the name of the very first drummer for the Cramps?

Answer: Miriam

The only recording I know of with Miriam is a very rare promo/bootleg. She later with her husband Billy started Norton records, the known rock and roll label from New York. Nick Knox was their primary drummer, Harry Drumdini was their drummer from about 1994 to 2004 and Slim Chance was a bass player in the 90's.
6. What's the name of the long banged guitar player opposite Poison Ivy on "Gravest Hits" and "Songs the Lord Taught Us" that loved smoking cigars and eventually stole the band's van and equipment?

Answer: Brian Gregory

Some say Brian started a cult, some say he ran a porn shop until his death. Either way Brian Gregory was a founding member. Chopper Franklin is the bass player on "Fiends of Dope Island" their 2003 release. Kid Congo Powers took over after Gregory stole the van. Slim Chance as previously mentioned was a bass player in the 90's.
7. Which song came before "Sunglasses After Dark" on "Songs the Lord Taught US"?

Answer: I Was a Teenage Werewolf

This song was probably inspired by the Cramps infatuation with cheesy "B" movies. They especially love horror flicks.
8. What infamous house was above the residence of Lux Interior and Poison Ivy when they lived in the old part of Hollywood?

Answer: The Haunted House on the Hill

In an interview from about 1985, they told the camera that they lived in the "good part of Hollywood, the old part of Hollywood." They also added that they lived under the Haunted House on the HIll.
9. Which of the following stage actions is Lux Interior best known for?

Answer: Tricks with the microphone stand

Though he may have done a little of the other three, he has a very impressive array of tricks that he does with the mike stand. He twirls it in the air, kicks it around and catches it, etc. etc.
10. Which of the following is NOT a Cramps album title?

Answer: Sick Sick Sick

Although they constantly tell fans to "Stay Sick", they never had an album called "Sick Sick Sick."
11. As of 2004, what's the name of the label that their new albums are being released on?

Answer: Vengeance

Vengeance is the label owned and operated by the Cramps. I.R.S. was the label the Cramps had to break away from thanks to a bad contract.
The other two were words that came out of my sick head.
12. To whom is "Big Beat From Badsville" dedicated?

Answer: Ghoulardi

Ghoulardi, so I'm told, was the host of a horror TV show> Very appropriate for the Cramps.
13. Which of the following dances have the Cramps not influenced you to do?

Answer: The Gooey Goo Goo Rock Stomp

"Cramp Stomp" is the first song on "Big Beat From Badsville", "Ultra Twist" is the second song on "Flamejob" and "Zombie dance" is an old favorite from "Songs the Lord Taught Us".
14. What EP features a doctor of Rockology saying "They don't pound and you won't pogo. They ooze, you'll throb."

Answer: Gravest Hits

These are the last two sentences on the back of their first EP.
15. As of 2004, what was the name of the last album released?

Answer: Fiends of Dope Island

The Cramps are still going on to this day and I look forward to their next release.
