He was born on the 27th of January 1756 at number 9, Getreidegasse.
2. He was the seventh, but only second surviving, son of Leopold Mozart and his wife Anna Maria. His father was a musician- what instrument was it that his father excelled in?

Answer: Violin

His father composed 'Violin Method', a standard work on violin technique. Mozart's mother was also from a musical family.

Speculation still continues of the real cause...kidney failure being at the heart of the problem. Poor upkeep of records in the intervening years have made it impossible to know for sure how he died but it is wholly accepted that he was not poisoned. He died on December 5th, 1791, aged just 35. He was buried in an unmarked pauper's communal grave in St. Marks's Church, Vienna.
