1. Who was the lead singer of the Scorpions?

Answer: Klaus Meine

Rudolf Schenker was a guitarist who founded the Scorpions in 1965. Singer Klaus Meine joined the group after realizing that he and Schenker shared the same dream. Ulrich Roth had played guitar for the Scorpions, but left the band in 1978, after their tour in Japan. Matthias Jabs replaced Ulrich as lead guitarist.
2. What song was written after the Scorpions' first visit to New York City and West 42nd Street?

Answer: The Zoo

The Scorpions toured the U.S. for the first time in 1979 as the opening acts for Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Journey. The band was so inspired from their experience in New York City that they wrote "The Zoo" for their next album, "Animal Magnetism".

Answer: Wind Of Change

The song "Wind Of Change" reached #1 in many countries and sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S. Meine was inspired to write this song after the Scorpions had taken part in the "Moscow Music Peace Festival" in 1988. Little did he know that a few months later the Berlin Wall would come down.

In 1991, the Scorpions became a part of music history, when Mikhail Gorbachev invited them to perform at the Kremlin.
