Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which year was Type O Negative formed?

Answer: 1989

Type O Negative was formed in 1989 when former Carnivore singer Peter Steele grouped together with childhood friends Sal Abruscato, Josh Silver and Kenny Hickey. Two years later they released their debut album "Slow, Deep and Hard".
2. How many studio albums did Type O Negative release before they were permanently disbanded in 2010?

Answer: 7

Type O Negative released seven studio albums over 21 years of activity, including "The Origin of the Feces" which is essentially a remix of another studio album "Slow, Deep and Hard". The band have released nine total albums including the two compilation albums.

It was permanently disbanded when 48-year old frontman Peter Steele died on April 14, 2010. The band's final album, "Dead Again", was released three years and one month before his death.
3. Where was Type O Negative based?

Answer: Brooklyn, NY

Their home base is in Brooklyn, which is a borough of New York City. Every Type O Negative song was recorded there. Of course, they don't just play songs here, they also play elsewhere during the tours.
4. Complete the title of their fourth album: "October ____"

Answer: Rust

"October Rust" was released in August (not October) 1996 and has more ballads and less doom metal than any other Type O Negative albums. Songs on that album include "Love You to Death", "Die With Me", "Burnt Flowers Fallen", and "Haunted".
5. Which album contains the song "Hey Pete"?

Answer: The Origin of the Feces

"Hey Pete" was inspired by Billy Roberts' song "Hey Joe". Unlike most other songs on "The Origin of the Feces" which are basically re-recordings of tracks on "Slow, Deep, and Hard", "Hey Pete" was recorded exclusively for the Feces album, as well as on the compilation album "The Least Worst Of".
6. Which song includes 'Jesus Christ' in the lyrics?

Answer: Christian Woman

"Christian Woman" is the band's most famous hit. It's from the third album, "Bloody Kisses".
7. Who was the keyboardist for Type O Negative?

Answer: Josh Silver

Josh Silver performed the keyboards well for this band, as with every other professional keyboardist out there. The incorrect choices were other Type O Negative mates playing a different instrument.
8. Which words fill in the respective blanks: "____ in heaven, ____ in hell"?

Answer: Halloween, Christmas

'Halloween in heaven, Christmas in hell' is a line of lyric in the song titled "Halloween in Heaven", played on the last Type O Negative album "Dead Again".
9. "Red Water (Christmas Mourning)" belongs on the same album as "Creepy Green Light".

Answer: False

"Red Water (Christmas Mourning)" belongs on the fourth album "October Rust" while "Creepy Green Light" is on the fifth album "World Coming Down".
10. One of the tracks on "Life Is Killing Me" is titled "I Like Girls".

Answer: False

The first two words in the song title, "I Like", is correct, but the third word is "Goils", not "Girls", therefore the correct title is "I Like Goils" and plays on the right album said in the question. It does sound like Pete Steele is saying 'girls' in that song as it read over 'goils' said in the lyrics, making you think that the song title may be "I Like Girls". To satisfy your curiosity, 'goil' means 'girl' in jersey speak (a minor language spoken in Brooklyn area) according to Urban Dictionary website, so maybe Pete was aware of that.
