The 1955 classic "Ain't That a Shame" was co-written and performed by "Fats" Domino. The song reached number ten on the Pop Singles chart (there was no Billboard Hot 100 chart in those days). It also reached number one on the Black Singles chart. It was notably covered by Pat Boone in an attempt to reach a wider audience by Domino's version was the one that took hold, selling a million copies. Rolling Stone Magazines "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" lists the song at number 431.
