Adam had been drinking a lot during the ZooTV era of the band, and wasn't able to play a show on the first night in Sydney, where the DVD was shot. No footage from this concert was used in the DVD. In the band's entire career, that was the only show to that date that anyone had to be filled in for.

The Video Confessional booth was set up outside the stage area and was open to the public to record their deepest secrets. U2 received people who admitted to being alcoholics, love confessions, and even the occasional flashing of breasts.

"The Fly" was Bono's opening character, who was present for "Zoo Station" all the way through the bands first seven or eight songs. "Mirror-Ball Man" was an early character who only lasted through about a leg of the tour, who used to preach a sermon about television in the middle of "Desire". "Mr. Macphisto" was often presented during "Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car" and remained onstage until the end of the show.

The Edge provides guitar chords and vocals, Adam Clayton plays the bassline, and Larry drums as well as sings. He's the one in the chorus singing "I feel numb".

If you watch the DVD carefully, as soon as the first set of cannons blast, Adam Clayton jumps. The blasts are very loud and he's not expecting one, so his reaction is rather entertaining.

Not only was "Acrobat" never played live on the ZooTV tour, it's never been played live EVER. The song was rehearsed to be played live in Hershey, Pennsylvania, but it was later dropped from the setlist before the shows but returned for the 2018 tour.

ZooTV closed in Tokyo. The other choices are included because Sydney was where the ZooTV DVD was filmed, and Boston/Dublin are the two locations of the Elevation tour's DVDs. I thought they might throw you off.

"Lemon" and "With or Without You" are both performed as Mr. Macphisto, even though during the latter, most of his makeup is running off of his face from his sweat. "Even Better Than the Real Thing" was almost always in the band's first five songs of the night, and was performed by Bono as The Fly.

Mr. Macphisto made a public telephone call for many nights of the ZooTV tour. He tried to get the White House most commonly, but in Detroit he called a pizza place and ordered 10,000 pizzas. The pizza place could only make 1,000 by the end of the show, but the pizzas were thrown out to the audience.
