Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg but grew up in British Columbia. Having lost a leg to cancer, his 1980 "Marathon of Hope" captured the imagination of the entire country. Unfortunately, his cancer re-occurred half way through his attempt to run across Canada. He died on June 28, 1981 but his memory has endured through the annual Terry Fox Run to raise money for cancer research.

David Steinberg's big break was performing on "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" where he delivered satirical sermons. He also guest hosted "The Tonight Show" twelve times. He later became a director working on "Seinfeld", "Mad About You", "Designing Women", "Newhart" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
