Answer: Hal Moore

General Hal Moore was born and raised in Kentucky. His book, "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young", which he co-wrote with Joseph Galloway, told the story of his time in Vietnam and the 7th Division Cavalry of which he was in command. For those of you interested, there was a movie starring Mel Gibson made on the book.

The movie title is We Were Soldiers. And if anyone would like to know any more about General Moore, just ask and I can answer any questions you may have - he's my cousin.
