Abul Pakir Jainul Abdul Kalam was the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007. He is known as the 'Missile Man of India' because of his achievements in making various missiles and rockets such as Agni, Prithvi, Agni II etc.

He is also a well-known figure in the field of literature and has written several books such as "Wings of Fire", "India 2020- A Vision for the New Millennium", "Ignited Minds", "The Luminous Sparks", "My Journey", "Guiding Souls", "Mission India" and many other books. He has also been awarded with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India.
2. Cricketer, author of 'Sunny Days', nicknamed 'Sunny'

His full name is Sunil Manohar Gavaskar. He was born on 10 July 1949 in Mumbai, Maharastra. He was a right arm medium bowler and right handed batsmen. He wrote his autobiography titled, 'Sunny Days'. He was the first Indian cricketer to score 10,000 runs in test cricket. He had batting average of 51.12 and had scored 34 centuries in test cricket.

Amitabh Bachchan won his first Filmfare Award as a Supporting Actor, for "Anand" in 1971. He had won a Filmfare award as a best actor for his movie, "Amar, Akbar, Anthony". Swami Vivekanand is responsible for the inspirational statement, "Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached." His real name was Narendranath Vishwanath Datta and he was born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He was a disciple of Ram Krishna Paramhansa.

He founded the Ramkrishna Mission. He died on 4 July 1902 (aged 39) at Belur Math, West Bengal, India. He also founded Arya Samaj. He wrote several books such as "Vedanta Philosophy", "Hatha Yoga", "Karma Yoga", "Gyana Yoga" and "Inspired Talks".
5. Writer, first Indian to win Nobel prize

Answer: Rabindra Nath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore was a great author from India. He was born on 7 May 1861 in Kolkata, India. His spouse was Mrinalini Dev. He was awarded the Noble Prize for Literature in 1913 for his book "Gitanjali". He died on 7 August 1941 (aged 80) in Kolkata, India. He also had a pet dog about which he wrote several poems.

His other notable works are "Gora", "Ghare-Baire", "Jana Gana Mana" (Indian national anthem), "Rabindra Sangeet", "Amar Shonar Bangla". He also wrote the National anthem of India and Bangladesh.

Mrs. Indira Gandhi was the daughter of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru. She was born on 19 November 1917 at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. She served as the third Prime Minister of India as well as being the first female Prime Minister. She died on 31 October 1984 (aged 66) in New Delhi, India.
Rajiv Gandhi was her son, who after her death became the Prime Minister of India.
7. Astronaut, first Indian woman to go in space

Kalpana Chawla was born on March 17, 1962 at Karnal, Haryana. She moved to the United States in 1982. She was the first female Indian-American astronaut. She spent 31 days, 14 hours, and 54 minutes in space. She had been awarded with the Congressional Space Medal of Honor. She died on February 1, 2003, in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Mohan das Karamchand Gandhi is popularly known as the "Father of the Indian Nation" and "Bapu". He was born on 2nd October 1869 at Porbandar in Gujrat. His parents were Karamchand Gandhi (father) and Putlibai Gandhi (mother). He was married to Kasturba Gandhi at the age of 13.

He is the Indian who chose ahimsa as his main weapon. He has also written many books such as "My Experiments With Truth", "Indian Home Rule", "Non-Violent Resistant", "The Essence of Hinduism", and more. He was assassinated by Nathuram Godse on 30 January 1948.
9. Economist, first Indian to win Nobel prize for Economics.

Answer: Amartya Sen

Amartya Sen was the first Indian to get the Noble Prize in Economic Science in 1998. He was born on 3 November 1933 at Santi Niketan, West Bengal, India. His father was Ashutosh Sen and mother was Amita Sen. He also achieved the Bharat Ratna (1999) and the National Humanities Medal (2012).
10. Poet, author of 'Meghduta', also known as 'Shakespeare of India'

Answer: Kalidas

Kalidas was a Classical Sanskrit writer, regarded as the greatest poet in the Sanskrit language. He is also known as 'Shakespeare Of India'. He was a stupid, foolish and an uneducated person in his early life but he married a very educated woman, who humiliated him about his foolishness and his lack of education. After he was humiliated he decided to learn and become a great writer and soon he became greatest of the writers and is now called "Shakespeare of India".
