Walter Brennan (1894-1974) was an American actor and singer. He won three Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor (1936, 1938 and 1940). He appeared in numerous films and television series in a career spanning 1924-1974. He is fondly remembered for his role as Amos McCoy in the U.S. situation television comedy "The Real McCoys" (1957-1963).

Walter Raleigh (1552-1618) was an Englishman of many traits -- being a writer, poet, soldier, courtier and explorer. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth I in 1585.
