More commonly known as Calamity Jane she was a friend of Wild Bill Hickok and in later life appeared in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. There have been books, plays and movies made of Calamity Jane. She has been portrayed on the silver screen by Jean Arthur, Sally Payne, Frances Farmer, Jane Russell, Doris Day and others.
