Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Was there ever a time recorded that Haman wanted to kill Esther?

Haman wanted to kill all the Jews in Persia; he never wanted to kill Esther but he probably would have if he knew she was a Jewess. However it does say that he had plotted to kill king Xerxes.
2. Who was Haman's Father?

Answer: Hammedatha

We learn this in Esther 3:1 where we first hear of Haman. Alphaeus was the father of Matthew the disciple if Jesus. Zebedee was the father of James and John who were also disciples of Jesus.
3. What was Haman's wife's name?

Answer: Zeresh

According to Esther 5:10-13 he called together his wife Zeresh and his friends to boast about his wealth and honor in Persia. Zipporah was the wife of Moses, Dinah was a daughter of Jacob and Rahab helped the Israelites who were sent to spy out Jericho.
4. Haman was a Jew.

Answer: False

This one was probably an easy one considering the fact that he was an enemy of the Jews. Actually it says that his father was an Agagite.
5. In which month did Haman set for the killing of the Jews to take place?

Answer: 12th

After Haman decided to kill the Jews he cast lots to see which month he should do it in and the lot fell on the month of Adar, which is the twelfth. This can be found in Esther 3:7.
6. Who was the only one who didn't kneel down to Haman in honor when he was walking through the city?

Answer: Mordecai

It was because of this that Haman wanted to kill all the Jews in Persia. This can be found in Esther 3:2-6.
7. How did Haman die?

After king Xerxes heard of his plot to kill the Jews, he had Haman hanged on the gallows Haman had intended to hang Mordecai on. This can be found in Esther 8:8-10.
8. How old was Haman when he died?

Answer: We don't know

It says how he died but not how old he was at the time of his death. The gallows he was hanged on were seventy-five feet high.
9. After Haman died who got his estate?

Answer: Esther

It says that Xerxes gave Esther the estate the same day that he ordered Haman hanged. It was also that day that Esther told Xerxes that she was related to Mordecai. This can be found in Esther 8:1.
10. How many sons did Haman have?

Answer: 10

Their names were Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha, Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha, Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai and Vaizatha. It says that the Jews killed them on the day that Haman was going to kill all the Jews. This can be found in Esther 9:1-10
