Herod asked the wise men to return to him, and tell him where Jesus was so he could "worship" him too. He wasn't planning to worship Him, he was planning to murder Him. After the worshipping, the Lord warned the Magi in a dream telling them of Herod's plot.

Peter told him, "Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee." Peter followed Jesus to the High Priest's palace, but did not go in. According to Luke, he used a fire to warm himself and so did the other Apostles. According to Matthew, a damsel came and said that Peter knew Jesus of Galilee. Peter denied saying, "I know not what thou sayest." Peter went out to the porch and a maiden said "This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth." Peter denied again with an oath saying, "I do not know the man." Other people that stood by saying "Surely thou art one of them, for thy speech betrayeth thee."
