Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How long did Daniel ask for he and his friends, Hanaiah, Azariah, and Mishael, to be fed pulse and water while they were kids, to prove that they could live off it?

Answer: 10 days

Daniel 1:12-16. Daniel and his friends were raised to serve in the Babylonian royal court. However, the meals they were given were unclean meat. Daniel proposed this idea to make Melzar (a royal caretaker) see if they looked healthy enough to serve in the royal court. Eventually, the unclean meat was taken away, and the four lived off pulse and water. Pulse is another way of saying "beans".
2. In King Nebuchadnezzar's dream, which of these elements is NOT listed as part of the statue?

Answer: Nickel

Daniel 2:31-34. The parts of the statue were the head of gold, arms and breast (or chest) of silver, belly and thighs of brass, legs of iron, and feet of clay.
3. In Nebuchadnezzar's dream, what came out and destroyed the great statue?

Answer: a stone

Daniel 2:45. That stone would transform into a mountain and fill the whole earth.
4. How tall was Nebuchadnezzar's image of gold?

Answer: 60 cubits

Daniel 3:1. Did I forget to mention that Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image after the one in his dream was revealed to him? All thanks to Daniel.
5. Where was this image of gold that Nebuchadnezzar built located?

Answer: in the plain of Dura

Daniel 3:1. It was here that the people of Babylon were ordered to bow down to this image.
6. What three men refused to bow down to Nebuchadnezzar's golden image?

Answer: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

Daniel 3:12. Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah are the birth names of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were given different names when they were taken captive into Babylon - so was Daniel apparently. (His Babylonian name is Belteshazzar.)
7. How many times was the furnace heated up that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were to be thrown in by order of the king?

Answer: 7 times

Daniel 3:19. Nebuchadnezzar ordered this out of his anger because he was angry at these three men for not worshipping his statue.
8. What happened to the guards that put Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace to die?

Answer: they died themselves

Daniel 3:22. The fire was too hot for them to handle. What amazes me is what happened after that.
9. How many individuals did Nebuchadnezzar see in the furnace?

Answer: 4

Daniel 3:25. There were four figures in the fire, yet they were unharmed by the fire. Three were human; the fourth was an Angel of the LORD.
10. What was Nebuchadnezzar's new decree after the LORD saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the furnace?

Answer: No one shall disrespect God

Daniel 3:29. If anyone were to violate the decree, they'd be cut into pieces, and their house would be turned to a dunghill (or rubble).
