Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which book of the Old Testament would you find this verse? "Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: 'Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.'"

Answer: Exodus

Exodus 1:22 The new Pharaoh who came to power said in verse 9: "'Look,' he said to his people, 'the Israelites have become much too numerous for us.'" The different accounts of infanticide told in both the New and Old Testaments I find quite interesting.
2. In which book of the Old Testament would you find this verse? "The Lord spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt."

Answer: Numbers

Numbers 1:1 The Lord had instructed Moses to take a census of the entire community by clans and families. They were then to number them by their divisions all men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army.
3. In which book of the Old Testament would you find this verse? "In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab."

Ruth 1:1 They come all this way and all the men die after about ten years. While in Moab Naomi hears that the Lord has brought relief to His people and she prepares to leave with her two daughter-in-laws. She then tells them to go back home to their mothers and asks that the Lord would bless them with new husbands. This is a wonderful story to read.

Answer: 1 Samuel

1 Samuel 1:2 Hannah's husband Elkanah loved her dearly even though she had not borne him any sons. Peninnah would lord it over Hannah and caused her great anguish. Hannah made a vow to God, saying, "O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head." God blessed her with Samuel who grew up to do great things in the name of the Lord.
5. In which book of the Old Testament would you find this verse? "When Judah attacked, the LORD gave the Canaanites and Perizzites into their hands and they struck down ten thousand men at Bezek."
