3. Just over two thirds (70%) of the inhabitants of Kazakhstan follow which religion?

Answer: Islam

Kazakhstan is a Central Asian country, the ninth-largest in the world. It is the world's largest landlocked country with a population of 18.8 million, but with fewer than 15 people per square mile (6 people per square kilometre), it has one of the lowest population densities in the world. Religious freedoms are guaranteed under the constitution, and, post-Independence, Islam, Russian Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and Judaism reported general acceptance and tolerance.

Interestingly, the majority following Islam are non-denominational Muslims, although some are Sunni. Less than 1% are Shafi`i (primarily Chechens) or Shi'a.

9. Like the prophet Samuel after him, the strong man Samson was not born easily, as his mother had trouble conceiving. But the Lord miraculously intervened, and she was finally able to bear a child. What was the name of her husband (Samson's father)?

Answer: Manoah

The Lord warned Samson's parents not to give Samson anything that came from the grapevine, but rather, to raise him as a Nazarite. His hair was never to be cut, he was never to touch a dead body, and he was never to eat unclean (non-kosher) food. Thus, the Lord gave Samson great strength, which Samson used to fight Israel's enemies (particularly the Philistines).

10. The Cloisters is a museum of fine arts in Manhattan, New York City. In the context of a cathedral or other church building, what is a cloister?

Answer: a covered walkway alongside a building

The English word cloister derives from the Latin word "claustrum", meaning enclosure. Architecturally, it refers to a walkway constructed on the side of a building, usually with a roof held up by arches or colonnades. Where four such walkways enclose an area, the central area is called a garth. Because of the association of cloisters with monastic structures, the term itself has come to mean monastic, as in "cloistered nuns", meaning those set apart from the secular world.

The word "claustrophobia" shares this etymology.
