Baasha became king when he assassinated King Nadab. Baasha was the son of Ahijah. After King Nadab's assassination, King Baasha ruled for twenty-four years. 4. According to I Kings 16, how long did King Zimri rule before he committed suicide?

Zimri worked for Elah as the captain of his chariots. While working for Elah, Zimri plotted to kill Elah. When he succeeded, Zimri took over as King of Judah. During his reign, Elah's army found out what he had done and waged war on Zimri. During the battle, Zimri barricaded himself inside his home and burned the house down with himself inside. Zimri's reign lasted seven days.

Answer: Ahazariah

King Uzziah began his reign at age sixteen. He fought battles and started a draft system among his men. After burning incense in the Temple of the Lord, King Uzziah contracted leprosy and had the disease until his death. Unlike other lepers, King Uzziah was buried in the royal cemetery. His story can be found in II Kings 15:1-7 and II Chronicles 26.
8. In II Kings 1:4, which prophet told King Ahaziah, King of Israel, that he was going to die in his sick bed?

Answer: Elijah

After falling a great distance, Ahaziah was confined to his bed. He sent messengers to Baal's temple so they could ask the god if Ahaziah was going to recuperate. On their journey, the messengers ran into Elijah. He explained to them that Ahaziah would die in his sick bed because he worshipped pagan gods instead of God Almighty. Ahaziah did die and his brother Jehoram reigned in his place. King Ahaziah's story can be found in I Kings 22:40-53 and 2 Kings 1.
9. What was King Nadab doing when he was killed in I Kings 15?

King Nadab had reigned two years when he was killed by Baasha during the battle at Gibbethon. King Nadab's story can be found in I Kings 15.
10. King Zechariah was also known as the father of John the Baptist.

Answer: False

King Zechariah was the last son of King Jeroboam II. His reign lasted six months before he was killed by Shallum who took over as king. King Zechariah's story can be found in 2 Kings 14 and 2 Kings 15. John the Baptist's father, Zechariah, was a priest of Abijah. His story can be found in Luke 1.
