Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One of the kings of Judah served as King for a record fifty-five years! Which King was it?

Answer: Manasseh

With many of the early people in the Bible living an incredible number of years, it's surprising this number isn't higher. (2 Kings 21:1)
2. The life of Moses is typically broken into three separate parts: his early life with the Egyptians, his time in exile, and his time with the Israelites freeing them and seeking the promised land. If each of these phases took the same length of time, how many years did each part of his life last?

Answer: 40

If you knew that Moses lived to be 120 (Deuteronomy 34:7), this question would have been easier. Numbers 32:13 says that the Israelites' wanderings in the desert took forty years, and Chapter 7 of the Book of Acts (in the New Testament) says the other two phases each took forty years as well.
3. The shortest chapter in the Bible is found in Psalms. Which Psalm is it?

Answer: Psalm 117

At only two verses, it was often looked for by a child who didn't feel like reading devotions.
4. The first verses of Job state how well off he was before God tested his patience. He had 11,000 animals in addition how many children?

Answer: 10

"He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys." - Job 1: 2-3 (New International Version).
5. "Jesus wept." This is the shortest verse in the Bible, found in one of the Gospels. But four of the eight shortest verses are found in two chapters in the New International Version of the Old Testament. Which is the first one to appear? HINT: The second time they appear is a retelling of the happenings to the Israelites.

Answer: Exodus 20

This is where the Ten Commandments are found. The verses are: "You shall not murder", and "You shall not steal." Deuteronomy 5 is the repeating of the Commandments by Moses; the verses are identical in the New International Version Bible.
6. According to Genesis 1, how long did God take to "make the heavens and the earth" in their entirety, from the beginning and up to man?

Answer: 6 days

And on the seventh day, God rested. (Genesis 1:31 to Genesis 2:3)
7. We all know about Jonah and the great fish, but HOW LONG did Jonah spend inside the fish?

Answer: 3 days

After that, he finally went to Nineveh, and they listened to his prophecy and changed their ways. (Jonah 3:7-10)
8. With how many men did Gideon defeat the large Midianite army, according to Judges, Chapter 7?

Answer: 300

Originally he had 32,000 before he attacked. 22,000 men left when Gideon allowed all that were afraid to leave. That means, even with 32,000, they were still afraid of the Midianites. That tells you how big the Midianite army was. Yet the 300 that joined Gideon won. (Judges 7:22) For those of you with kids, the "VeggieTales" DVD that came out in October 2006 deals with this subject matter.
9. How long was Noah's ark?

Answer: 300 cubits

It was also 45 feet (13.7 m) high. (Genesis 6:15)
10. How long was the Ark of the Covenant, in cubits?

Answer: 2.5 cubits

Exodus 37:1 states the Ark was 2 and a half cubits long. The footnotes say that is about 3.75 feet, or 45 inches.
