Answer: Joseph Smith, Jr

Joseph received the First Vision in the Spring of 1820. The Church was organized April 6, 1830 and Joseph served as its leader until his death in June of 1844. He translated the "Book of Mormon" and received the revelations known as the "Doctrine and Covenants". He was a great leader, organizing the Church in New York, Ohio, Canada, Missouri, England, Illinois and many other places.
2. Which President was known as the "Mormon Moses", because he led the Saints across the plains from Illinois to what would later become Utah?

Answer: Brigham Young

Brigham Young and the Quorum of the Twelve led the Church collectively after Joseph's death. Brigham Young was sustained President of the Church in December of 1847. He spent much of his time as President helping Saints come to "Deseret" to be free of persecution elsewhere in the world. President Young died in August 1877.

John Taylor was in Carthage Jail when Joseph Smith was killed. He suffered serious wounds himself, but survived. He was sustained President in October 1880. He served for 7 years, dying in July 1887.

Answer: David O. McKay

David O. McKay grew up in Huntsville, UT. He served 44 years in the Quorum of the Twelve before being called as President of the LDS Church in April 1951. President McKay is responsible for the structure of the Sunday School and wrote many of the first instruction manuals.

He also created the first stakes of Zion outside of the United States of America. He died in January 1970, at 96 years old.

Sustained in July 1972, Harold B. Lee used his short 18 months as President preparing the Church for a rapid expansion of members in the decades to come. He died in December 1973. President Lee spent much of his time in the Twelve working with the Welfare Program he helped to create.

Sustained in March 1995, he was President until his death in 2008.
