Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Bible says that there were three Kings or Magi that went to see Jesus after he was born.

Answer: False

Contrary to the song, the Bible never says how many Magi came to see the baby Jesus. The visit from the Magi can be found in Matthew 2.
2. Who is a son of Isaiah?

Answer: Mahershalalhashbaz

Isaiah 8:3 - "Then I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. And the LORD said to me, 'Name him Mahershalalhashbaz.'" I learned this from my Youth Group leader a few years back.
3. A man named John wrote Revelation.

Answer: True

Revelation 1:9-11 says "I, John, ... On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, which said: 'Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'"
4. Where was the author of Revelation imprisoned when he wrote this book?

Answer: Patmos

This is in Revelation 1:9.
5. The woman in Revelation 12, "The Woman and the Dragon," is clothed in what?

Answer: the sun

My preacher preached on this passage once. Revelation is an amazing book to learn about. Although it never says for sure in the Bible, some Bible scholars believe that the woman represents the people of Israel.
6. According to John 5:17, Jesus replied to those who were persecuting him, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working." When did he make this statement?

Answer: directly following the healing at the pool of Bethesda

He said this to the religious officials at that time because Jesus had told a man to pick up his mat and walk on the Sabbath, and it was against the Law to carry a mat on the Sabbath.
7. Who was Sarai's maidservant?

Answer: Hagar

Sarai told Abram, because she had borne him no children, to sleep with Hagar, her maidservant, so he could build a family through her. This can be found in Genesis 16:1.
8. In the Old Testament, who had a talking donkey? This is in Numbers 22.

Answer: Balaam

Balaam's donkey gave him the facts about his temperament when its mouth was opened. The donkey's mouth was opened because Balaam had beaten it when the donkey saw an angel of the Lord in the road and stopped.
9. Saul/Paul immediately regained his vision after his encounter with God.

Answer: False

The men traveling with Saul could see the light but didn't see anyone; Saul himself was blinded. Ananias laid his hands on him three days later so Saul/Paul could see. This is found in Acts, chapter 9. We don't know why his name was changed from Saul, which means prayed for, to Paul, which means small or humble, but after Acts 13:9, he is referred to as Paul. I put both names in the question to specify which Saul because there is another Saul in the bible.
10. Where was Saul/Paul going when he was blinded by God?

Answer: Damascus

In Damascus, he didn't eat or drink anything for the entire three days he was blind. This can be found in Acts 9.
